And concerning earlier discussion - requirements for ranked / approved maps are really silly sometimes, personally i liked every DoKo diff i played so far, and very much so.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for mapping Dragonforce in CS4 and AR>9. Although there's too much spaced streams and quick sliders for my liking, best of luck getting it ranked!

00:21:450 (6,1,6,1,6,1) - - finde das ds zu klein, ich empfinde es eher wie beim aller ersten mal. 00:23:850 (6,1,6,1) - sind so nah an der grenze für mein geschmack^^. am aller "schlimmsten" finde ich 00:25:950 (5,6,1). wie es jenny schon erklärt hat, spielen sich diese elemente überhaupt nicht jumpiger als davor
00:57:750 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - du sagtest zwar dass du das ds sehr stark nach deinem empfinden bestimmst aber hier macht es nicht wirklich sinn dass 00:57:750 (1,2,3,4,5) so dolle anderes ds von 00:58:200 (6,7,8,9,10,11,12) hat. wenn beide etwa gleich klein wären (oder von klein zu groß), würde das einfach einfach epischer sein :D
01:09:750 (4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6) - würde den slider rauslassen. wenn man die map spielt verkraftet man längeree streams weitaus leichter. außerdem hat er hier nicht die gleiche bedeutung wie 01:09:150 (2) ~ spielt sich ohne ihn besser imo

03:42:750 (8) - hab n eechtes problem mit dem flow hier. bei der figur vorher 03:38:850 (2,3,4,5,6,7) und nachher 03:43:950 (4,5,6,7,8) werden alle slider in etwa gleich gespacet gespielt. 03:41:550 (4,5,6,7,8) - hier werden 03:41:550 (4,5,6) nach jenny's ersten bild die slider jedoch kaum vollständig ausgespielt jedoch bei 03:42:450 (7,8,9) - ist das ds viel höher. ich habe aber eher erwartet, dass die wie in der figur vorher alle ähnlich zueinander gespielt werden. 03:42:750 (8) sollte daher etwas näher an (7) sein imo
05:53:775 (8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15) - wieder sehr schwer zu spielen imo^^
05:58:050 (1,2,3) - sollten die nicht so sein wie 05:59:250 (1,2,3,4) :?

  1. Well, I don't really think the accurate combo colours are matching the BG very well. Personally I advice something soft-toned, for example this.
  2. Where are hitsounds? Remember you have to HS the map, otherwise it's not possible to make it approved!
  3. 00:52:200 (3) - The beginning of this slider is so shaky... I doubt it is rankable nowadays. To be honest I don't know how you want to stress this riff here, but maybe you could try to make something more simple without so many curves and direction changes.
  4. 00:53:400 (8) - Can you improve this blanket, please?
  5. 00:54:150 (11) - Well, maybe it's not as unrankable as the previous slider, but try to place the red points a bit closer so it's not wubbling that much. Maybe use something similar like 04:25:491 (11) - this?
  6. 01:24:000 (5,6,7) - Is there a possibility to make it 1/2 instead of 3/4 sliders? Now it doesn't sound well, I believe the better way would be to make it 1/2 as in the previous moments because now it seems to be a bit sloppy. Or if possible, to make 1/2 sliders and circles between note gap. What do you think about it?

If i have to remove these perfectly fine streams because of BNs or QATs i won't aim for approval anymore. They are quite difficult, but that's the intenion behind them. They are nothing impossible on the first playthrough, they just need to be played by someone with great movement. So if someone really insists on not ranking the map because of these streams, then i will lose faith in humanity (probably only in the stopit renking crittärriah and the people, who changed them).

One thing to say the 7 star map on this is a bit overwhelming, most of the DragonForce maps are at measily 6 stars and that is reasonable, the way you have streams makes it difficult to play out and maintain a combo, I suggest slighting changing the DS of the streams to be a little bit shorter and making the jumps a progressive difficulty, as in it gets harder than not start off difficult in the beginning and throughout the whole thing since it's too hard. It even beats this map that just came out https://osu.ppy.sh/b/633507 and it's hard. But the only thing with that map is it's massive jumps. Just make your map not so difficult so its playable as a marathon and somewhat of a challenge for the players. If it's difficult throughout the whole map not many people will enjoy it since your limiting yourself to how much people can play the song :( If you do make the changes I suggested then call me back here and I can thoroughly mod it.

I am SO sorry. I will carry on the tradition, remove everything and remap it as a AR8CS5 map. Most of the DragonForce maps are like that, so i guess everything else isn't acceptable.
Thanks for your wise opinion, senpai, but i gladly decline. I have my own mapping style and i won't remap anything just because "most DF maps are mapped like that". If you don't like the map/aren't good enough to play it, then just ignore this map and stick to other maps. There are plenty of people, who enjoy playing this map and i like mapping stuff, which is challenging. Where would be the fun, if everyone can FC your map first try?
When you are able to mod well and competently, i would appreciate your mod, but for now i don't think you would be any help for improving this map.

  2. 00:21:450 (6,1) - Feels a bit close. Same with 00:22:650 (6,1) - . Reason is probably because you jump at 00:20:250 (6,1) - , and these sections being very similar to each other. 00:23:850 (6,1) - is better, since there's still a slight jump, it's only when the DS don't change at all that I feel it's kinda off.
  3. 00:35:400 (3,4,5) - Slightly awkward flow. Not really a big deal, but the flow has mostly been circular at this point.
  4. 00:56:550 (8,9,10) - Try slider-note-slider-note? Since the guitar is on 00:57:150 -
  5. 00:58:050 (5) - Slightly curve this towards the next stream?
  6. 01:04:350 (7,8,9,10,11) - It's kinda weird to have these jumps when the previous notes are really close to each other, and with no particular increase in intensity in the song.

  33. 06:07:950 (5,6) - Make a slightly bigger gap here? as well as a gap between 06:08:550 (10,1) -
  34. 06:19:650 - Dunno about these velocity changers (this 1.6 and the previous and next 1.4) I guess you're trying to follow the "oh-oh-oh" thing going higher in pitch? Anyhow, some of the sliders feel too close during the 1.6 section compared to the sliderspeed.
  35. 06:24:600 (2,3,4,5,6) - Straight lines are awkward ;;

  37. 06:53:100 (12) - Move to 376;32 or somewhere along those lines? For a bigger jump into the repeat slider after it :P
  38. 07:17:250 - Nothing wrong with the mapping itself, but this section just feels way too tame compared to all the stuff you had to go through to get here. It's the end of the map, so it just kinda awkward. The guitar is also similar to 00:40:950 - at the beginning (not identical but still), and I think it would fit better if you made this part similar in difficulty as that part.
  39. 07:36:900 (2,2,2,2) - You'll have to move the pattern more to the right for this, but it'd be cool if you placed the (2)'s a further away for every repeat, so you get a nice jump on the last one.
  40. 07:49:500 (1) - Make it a slider that ends at 07:50:550 - ? With some wiggles and squiggles and stuff.
Also OD is fine. Lower OD makes it easier to note-lock and you rip.

Random mod from a bad mapper, I don't think this will be helpful, just some random suggestions from looking over this map and playing the first half a couple of times (mostly in the streams, not great with jumps).

00:31:350 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - Perhaps change this into 3 sliders 2 circles or 4 circles 2 sliders (like the other patterns) for consistency's sake? This pattern seems a bit out of place.
00:54:750 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - It's about the same sound as 00:45:150 (3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) but the pattern is much more spaced. It does feel a bit more intense, but not enough to warrant that kind of spacing imo. Or space out the other stream a bit more.
01:15:000 (2,3,4,5,6,7) - Space this out a little more and move it off the repeat slider?
01:19:950 (9,10,11,12,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - This part feels a bit awkward to play as there is a pretty big gap and sudden change in direction.
02:02:550 (6,7,8,9) - Spacing again. It's in a lot of places, I'll try and point out as much as I can. It's not that big a deal, but it looks and plays a bit wonky when the spacing is suddenly much smaller.

05:13:200 (11,12,13,14,15) - Things like this appear often, not going to write this for every one. While it follows the general direction - which should play okay - the one note out of the flow makes it seem like a bit of an abrupt/awkward turn. These should probably be polished up a little.
05:17:250 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16) - The spacing is heavily reduced here. I agree that there should be a reduction in spacing, but this feels like a bit too heavy a reduction in spacing. Perhaps space it out a little more?
05:25:650 (8,9,10,11,12,13) - This is fine, but it might play/look a bit better if spaced out more.
05:30:975 (8,9,10,11) - Not that awkward, but I think you can change the position of these circles to make it flow better rather than changing direction slightly.
05:32:400 (11,12,13,14,15,16,1) - Not sure about this. It might be okay, but to me it looks like this whole pattern plays a bit odd. Perhaps add a few 1/4 sliders to change direction rather than the circular motion here?
05:35:850 (9,10,11,12) - This one isn't so much of an issue in playability, but probably should be polished, too.
05:43:650 (4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5) - Same as 05:17:250 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16)

06:07:650 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - Same kind of stuff as 05:43:650 (4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5) . Perhaps space it out a little more?

Though this is a long mod, most of these are just nit-picky things/suggestions. The stream spacing isn't too big of an issue, it might just be more aesthetically pleasing/flow better if some of them are more consistently spaced. The awkward turns are the only real issue in playability I could come across - the spacing by itself already makes it extremely challenging to the very best, the awkward turns just makes it frustrating.
All of that being said, this was a really, really fun map to play, even if a tad unpolished. I really do hope this does get ranked (if I didn't like this map, I wouldn't mod it) and this is one of my maps of 2015 so far. Best of luck in getting it ranked!
(Also someone please mod some of the spacing outside the streams that I'm too inexperienced to see pls)

Do i HAVE to make a jump there? Cause i didn't really feel like making one there. The second one is reasonable tho and i fixed that.
- stream spacings often change randomly, for example 00:57:750 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - I know a map should be consistent, but i just want to make it varied a bit. I do know that the music doesn't change a lot between these parts, but it is not like that stream is completely wrong. I like to vary the distance snap sometimes. I hope this is okay and i can leave it as it is, since i like it like that.
- the highly spaced streams often change angles drastically at unfitting places, for example 05:46:425 - 05:51:150 - I am like on of a few people, who can actually FC all the streams and trust me, if you learn how to aim spaced streams, edges and drastically changed directions are hellalot of fun. I know it is not 100% fitting to the music, but it is the same reason as with the different spacings. I just like to vary some things. I hate monotonous streams. It is just way more fun to have some nice movement while streaming.
- the NCing is inconsistent and random I tried making them reasonable. I don't really know which ones you mean exactly. I think this is somehow subjective, but i could be wrong.

I feel like the only people complaining about sharp turns in streams are the ones, who cannot play them. Don't take this as an offense, please. I really don't want to change ANYTHING about these spaced streams. They are really fun like they are now. They are meant to be difficult and have some turns and edges. As i said above, I am one of a few, who can play spaced streams really well. I can even FC these streams (even with hardrock i did it ALMOST) and sharp turns in spaced streams make me orgasm. I really refuse to change the spaced streams. Sorry. If this is a big issue to get this map ranked, then I would rather prefer it to get graved rather than changing it.

Though this is a long mod, most of these are just nit-picky things/suggestions. Also, some suggestions for alternative diff names, since people don't seem happy about an AR 9.6 CS 4 "Legend" map :P.

  9. 00:43:350 (6) - The guitarist emphasizes this note so maybe increase the spacing from 5>6? You could try stacking the slider-end of 6 with circle 4. Creates a nice circular flow and gets rid of slider-body overlap.

  4. 00:57:600 (4) - I know you want to keep this symetry, but this spacing make it so inconsistant with 00:57:000 (2) - who is just the same. Move it to 460:276 to fix it.

First of all, the streams are intentionally made like this. It makes it much more challenging and way more fun to play. You have to keep track of the cursor while streaming and not just move it in a monotonous curved movement. Sharp edges and turns are what make a stream fun to play, imo. It is funny how you probably cannot play these streams yourself and question the enjoyment of them. <,< You really cannot tell until you play them yourself. Just looking at them in the editor doesn't say anything about the playability of them, but this is probably also very subjective.
The point with the break... Well, no DragonForce map got a break. And there is a reason for it. Their songs just don't give you a chance to insert a break. I just cannot force a break into this only because it is 7 minutes long, since there really is no part where a break would fit. Also there is a 170BPM part, if you didn't notice. This can be seen as kind of a break in comparison to the rest of the map. And on a final note, this map is more aimed to be played by people with a high rank and trust me, they don't have any problems with 7 minutes of 200BPM.

Thank you for your mod. Even if there were only small suggestions, it still helped me a lot ^-^

Actually, the biggests complaints about the stream curving isnt because theyre there, it's because they turn on unfitting places. 05:46:425 (6) - why on a blue tick and not white like here 05:46:350 (5) - where theres actually a strong beat?

These are just from the stream section between 05:46:050 - and 05:55:650 -, you can find the rest of the awkward turns in the other sections yourself, rearranging the streams takes like 2 seconds and you can keep your curves and everyone happy

Edit: + A little IRC about making streams with grid snap turned off so theyre more polished and evenly spaced.

Thank you so much. I reworked the streams completely, but kept the sharp turns (made them fit to the music now tho). They look much better now.

01:46:650 (12,1,1,1,1) - i don't think it's a good idea to make such an increasing spacing on 200 bpm streams, it's hard to follow and can be really unexpected, consider adjusting that spacing
02:04:875 (4,5,6) - that shape is too sharp, it's too hard to follow streams with such a sharp movement, betterr to make it more flowing
02:05:250 (9,10,1) - ^
03:16:650 (7,1,1,1,1) - same as before
04:58:050 - 05:55:650 - the part. almost all of these streams are totally unpleasant to play, sharp shapes, spacing, flow, i don't think song calls for it, why don't you make these streams smoother and without all these sharp angles? i hardly suggest you to redo this part because these streams are made for crazy difficulty, not for player's please while playing. i honestly don't understand how to play something like 05:48:450 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13) - . probably i'm just not that good player, but still, it's too hard and forced. i hope you consider that and make this part smoother

I'm really sorry, but I'm not that good with checking such a type of maps, it's over my level, I can't play it, so I can't judge it well. I hardly suggest you to get high-level player's opinions about this map, because only they can judge this map well and point at really bothering things.
