Obviously snapping is better I'm not denying that, I just felt like linking that video when I read what you posted.

Edit:

and by the way, just look at most of the 300s he got and see how he's actually snapping to these instead of "flowing" to them
That depends on how you define snapping (see GhostFrogs post) because he certainly isn't moving in straight lines even though he does stop on some notes.

Yeah, sometimes it's really a circle, but often he just jumps to the next note, so I guess that counts

We haven't had a thread on a while on the definition of snapping.

Is it:
1) moving in straight lines?
2) getting to each note as fast as possible?
3) stopping, even if only momentarily, on each note?
4) some combination of these?
5) something else?

The definition I use is choice 3, but there are a surprising number of different opinions on this.
I would classify it as a combination of 1 and 3.

I think the problem is people coming to G&R to ask if they are snapping.

you ain't snapping on streams or quick closely space 1/2 ticks

just sayin'

flow has its important uses

As far as im concerned, i can't tell the difference betwen snaping and flow at 250 bpm jumpspams even if i tried, point beeing that as long and you do precise cursor movment and you can keep track of it nothing else matters, I can't think of anyreally good player that is bothered by the fact that he is snaping or flowing.

I snap for patterns and jumps, but flow for strings of notes (when the notes can be arranged in a well-shaped curve pattern). Also, when sliders are in close proximity i will usually end up curving to each slider since i'm already curving to begin with, it's kind of hard to do go from curve slider-> straight line snap -> curve slider in repeated fashion. Are these actually bad habits?

For all the people in this thread who don't know how, this is how you snap properly.
