umm, i think it's clear already (at least for those fluent in english), the adjective used clearly indicates the diff, and the example of the ranked map here shows that they did not specify explicitly the difficulty of each map.

I'm fluent in english and I've never heard of, and I'm sure most people haven't heard of the word clamorous before seeing this mapset aha.

Also just noting "Serene" and Tranquil" both kinda mean the same thing.

I look deeper in the folder and i found this:


The two images are in png form but there are no transparency in these two images.
changing it to jpg reduce the size.

I think this is not a big deal. . .

What do you want?
An 7.61x SB load storyboard that will not lag on newer computers but lag on older computers
Or
An 5.0x below SB load storyboard that have 100 sprites active at the Same time that will lag all computers new and old.
Basically. All players use the new ones.
If the storyboard lags on their computers. Why not disable the storyboard to make their computers shut up

Just want to let you know I'm currently working on reducing SB load to under 5.0, but that involves redoing the majority of the particles (clouds, dots) into individual sprites. I'll try to finish today or tomorrow.

i think the RC did not mention anything abotu sb load > than 5.0 being unrankable, right?
it's stated only in the guidelines... which could be exempt in special circumstances...

Hi, I've decided that the SB load 5.0x is perfectly acceptable. The effort to go through individualizing the clouds and the glows is substantial and I don't want to delay this project (or my other projects further).

The storyboard looks fine though. I made a few minor tweaks:
  1. new pole.png and scaled properly this time. I suppose it doesn't really matters in mania mode? oh well.
  2. Made the clouds a little more yellow to match the background and increased opacity a bit.
  3. replaced the background to make it not as filled with squares. Not really sure where you got that image, but I like mine a LOT better, so please use it.
  4. changed the fade-in fade-out sequence to use a black image in the foreground rather than fading out multiple images at the same time. When you fade out the background and the pole, the pole looks like it's a lot "stronger" in the background because it actually fades out at an exponential rate rather than a linear rate.
@VINXIS: The transparency is all fine. The rule was not meant for this purpose, and in fact, just because you can't see the alpha channel at low levels doesn't mean it's not there. I checked the files and there's a very small alpha channel that extends quite a bit outwards. If you select the alpha channel and crop it to that selection, most of the images don't change at all.

Sorry for not doing what I said I was going to do. Given time I could do it, but it's so much simper to live with the 5.0x load (which is not an accurate measure of CPU load anyway). No need to credit me unless you still want to as I don't care either way.

  • Storyboard

  1. 首先bg并不需要那么高,削减到1024*576,大小仍然0.834不变居中。这可以省去一些sb load.
  2. kiai和普通部分交界处的效果虽然load有点高了,但是可以不用修改,因为持续的时间比较短。如果想降低load,办法是有:
    1.可以参考第一条修改建议,削减图片高度,这个很容易办到。
    2.可以取出一个白色光点作为子图,复制并规范各个子图的运动轨迹,做出相同效果。(可以去参考一下 http://puu.sh/hDhED/ec640b1b5e.osz )
  3. 最后部分是load最高的部分,其实也可以不改,因为哪个部分图已经打完了,无所谓了。但是如果你想改,办法很多。比如人名什么的,字母全做成子图。我做过一个工具可以来规范他们的排版。不过字体不是你那种,详情看我user page ,可以考虑一下。
  4. 我不打mania,所以图我就不看了,good luck
