This. Also, keep in mind that everyone is different and uses a variety of settings. Just like in the above example, hvick uses fullscreen 1080p with a smaller tablet active area while rrtyui uses 1366 x 768 windowed with a larger tablet active area(full I believe). Or even me, I use a full tablet active area with 1440 x 900 windowed.
Smaller resolutions might also be easier to see the entire playfield when sitting closer to the monitor, while playing fullscreen depending on the size of your monitor may require you to sit further away in order to see the whole playfield.
Keep on trying different settings and see what works for you; don't feel obliged to use something because someone else does; it isn't that simple.
