  1. The OD on every Insane is terribly low for no reason, the song is intense and so seem the Insanes be, so please Add at least +1 OD to every single on of them. A possible solution would be that Gaia's Insane used OD 7 -> Insane OD 7,5 -> Rakuen's Insane OD 8 -> Guy's Extra OD 8,5
    but please don't leave them like that. Even the hard difficulty uses OD 6.. <.<

  1. 00:54:620 (3,4,5,6,7) - This stream isn't in the music, so I thought it'd be better to use something more appropriate for it, because current feels overmapped.
  2. 00:58:005 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4) - I am not really a fan of this overmap because as you can hear, there aren't beats to support this stream (you can even listen it with 25%). Even as a build-up to the chorus, it's not an excuse to a stream where the song doesn't really support it. But in the end, it's your choice whether you want to leave it or not.
  3. 01:17:543 (1) - The long slider is fine since it follows the vocals, but a more enjoyable rhythm would definitely be a 1/2 slider + note, since currently 01:17:851 - is sucked by 01:17:543 (1) - 's ending, so it misses an important beat.
  4. 01:18:774 (1) - This, on the other hand, doesn't follow the vocals properly enough to be there, so could you consider a rhythm such as this?
  5. 01:31:543 (2,3,4,5,6) - Move this a bit more down so 01:31:774 (5) - gets stacked perfectly with 01:31:082 (7) - ? Looks somewhat unclean now.

  1. As stated in the general box, don't use OD6, it's an OD that Hard-difficulties use and this isn't one. Moreover, this is the hardest Insane difficulty in this mapset so there's absolutely no reason to use such low OD.
  2. 00:10:005 (1,2,3,4) - I find this pattern to not flow that well, so you could consider using this; it'd give it more structure too!
  3. 00:10:774 (1) - Do not extend this to the blue tick, there's no sound to support it and the vocals end at 00:10:928 - , it feels way too forced now and that's not good.
  4. 00:20:774 (3) - Feels too forced again, because 00:20:466 (1,2) - are the two main notes that the music has, so this (3) feels unnecessary. Consider removing it?
  5. 01:11:235 (5,1) - Give it a lot more spacing, since you have such similar spacing with 01:11:543 (1,2) - , it's hard to read whether it's 1/2 or 1/4.
  6. I didn't like this Insane, sorry. The reason for it is because the extensions feel way too forced and unnecessary when the song doesn't even support those, and the general structure seems to be missing. E.g 00:14:158 (3,4,5,6) - could be a proper square, but currently it's off a lot, 00:18:466 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - could be so many things but atm it's a triangle with an incorrect triangle at 00:18:774 (4,5,6) - and then there's incorrect blankets. The map itself could have so many shapes, cleaner patterns and that would make it a lot more structured. Everything I just said isn't meant to be taken as something rude, but as my personal opinion.
[Insane]
  1. 00:13:235 (4) - I tried to explain the flow issue here by a picture! (Orange color = ideal flow Black color = your current flow) The issue here is that since you decided to position 3 like that, which is nice, requires the next slider to be more to its right since 3's end is positioned that way. But currently, it's quite against it so it makes this awkward turn to the left instead, having a bad flow. Makes sense? Hope so rofl, you can arrange it accordingly.
  2. 00:16:005 (1,2) - Please do not use unnecessary overlaps when it's not needed, it just makes the map more clustered and unclean looking. A more appropriate (imo) placement for 2 would be;
  3. 00:17:543 (2,3) - You can basically just CTRL + G these notes to give the pattern a MUCH more smoother flow, currently it has somewhat same issues like in the first suggestion.
  4. 00:18:928 (3,5) - If you ever do this, consider at least blanketing them properly so it doesn't look sloppy, or then do a fancy-looking overlap that I personally like!
  5. 00:19:389 (5,1) - Like I told you earlier, please don't overlap them. It makes the map feel unclean and clustered where as it could feel a lot smoother with just a simple re-position.
  6. 00:20:158 (2,3,4,5,6) - Make this a straight stream? The small, small curve looks and feels kind of odd. Maybe just me though..
  7. 00:32:466 (2,3,4,5) - Same, flow issues. You may want to consider something like this?
  8. 00:34:312 (5) - Would place it at x:157 y:115 so the pattern itself doesn't feel too clustered and that would give the pattern also a smoother flow!
  9. 00:34:466 (1) - Looks very unclean because it's not stacked perfectly with 00:34:158 (4) - NOR 00:33:851 (2) -
  10. 01:02:158 (3,1,2,3) - Blanket
  11. 01:03:697 (5,6,7,8) - Again, it just feels really clustered and since you used a big spacing before, this jump pattern feels weird because its spacing is very, very small compared to the other ones. I'd re-arrange it to something similar to this
  12. 01:18:005 (2,3,4,1,2) - These are really strong beats, yet the spacing doesn't reflect to that at all. Consider adding A LOT more spacing
  13. 01:31:851 (2,3) - Finishers, the most strong beats yet the spacing is barely noticeable. Could you consider this?
[Gaia's Insane]
  1. Because this Insane uses so many things I could never use in my maps, I can not really mod it. I'd end up making a 3 hour rant post about something personal and that's not really cool, sorry about that ,_,

  4. 00:51:851 (1,2) - If you can avoid such unnecessary overlaps, please do so. It makes the map look more unclean and that isn't nice.
  5. There was a lot of blankets that were slightly off or totally off throughout the mapset, I'd recommend you to go over it few times and improve on them since it certainly doesn't take long.

  1. 00:19:235 - Please consider adding a note here, since it's rather powerful and without it, it makes 00:18:620 (1,2) - feel off.
  2. 00:29:697 (1,2) - Again, a note could be added here to continue the vocals from 00:55:082 (5) - , feels rather empty now. :(

  3. Wasn't really a fan of the red point sliders but I guess they're fine
The mapset isn't bad, don't get me wrong, but it definitely needs a lot more work, it's nowhere near to be ready for a qualification, not to mention a bubble. The Insanes seem to lack structure which makes them unclean looking and sometimes it messes up the flow. They aren't bad, at all, but with more work and more mods, they could be soooooo much better. I feel like if you guys are pushing this to qualified right away, it's like wasted potential.

The mod wasn't meant to be taken as something rude, so please do not take it that way. I just tried to break it down to you guys why I think it needs a lot more improvements. Please don't be hesitant to ask me for elaboration on some suggestions, comments, anything, I am more than happy to do so. (pref if you contact in-game)

00:41:082 (2,3) - Move this further away from the stream
01:08:466 (3,4) - If you're going to make anti jumps just stack the two notes together, it both looks and plays better. The player doesn't have to move at all which creates a good effect with the music. More examples are 00:34:928 (2,3) - 01:09:389 (2,3) - 01:17:851 (2) -

I'm sorry but I don't like the use of the extended sliders that end on blue ticks, such as 01:00:466 (1,2) - 01:04:158 (1,2) - 01:15:235 (1,2)
Most of them could end on 1/2 ticks, it feels a little bit disconnecting to switch fingers often (and the beat would sit better)
Also, when you make jumps you don't need to stack them so much on notes that don't matter, focus more on flow

00:04:928 - Triple
00:08:774 (1,2,3,1) - This kind of thing would fit better:
00:10:005 (1,2,3,4) - Make this jump wider by moving the 2 down for better flow
00:10:620 (1) - Move the slider closer to the centre of the jump and stack the first note
00:15:235 (3) - Reverse this, it breaks flow to move back to the left on the slider
00:20:774 (3) - Remove this
00:31:235 (2,3,4,5) - Change this pattern (you might want a wider triangle than my example shows)

Hey Aerous!

I think we've talked about your maps some time ago (rather, some months), and I'd like to drop some words about this mapset. I've taken a look at it, and well, the quality.. as Asphyxia said, it's not bad, but could be a lot better. He has also pointed out a lot of stuff, which you should consider.

What I wanted to tell you is, that you definitely shouldn't rush the ranks that much with your current mapping skill; I honestly believe that there is unused potential, which will stay unused if you continue like this; how about taking some more time to think about your mapping? Try to check other maps, try improving yourself. But honestly, aiming for rank like this will in the end only end up in an unrank for missing quality.

I'm not trying to demotivate you ranking maps, you can obviously continue doing it, but seeing almost no improvement the more ranks you get, is quite sad to see.

We can have a chat in game again, concerning your maps, where I'll certainly help you further (because I know, this comment doesn't help you getting a better map).

Just being a little nitpicky with sliders here, everything else seems alright to me
  1. 00:22:312 (3) - this slider looks really weird to me, what I suggest is taking the the 2nd red sliderpoint and making it a regular sliderpoint so it curves better
  2. 01:06:620 (3) - this slider also looks weird, I think it would be better as just a standard curve slider

The mapset isn't bad, don't get me wrong, but it definitely needs a lot more work, it's nowhere near to be ready for a qualification, not to mention a bubble. The Insanes seem to lack structure which makes them unclean looking and sometimes it messes up the flow. They aren't bad, at all, but with more work and more mods, they could be soooooo much better. I feel like if you guys are pushing this to qualified right away, it's like wasted potential.

The mod wasn't meant to be taken as something rude, so please do not take it that way. I just tried to break it down to you guys why I think it needs a lot more improvements. Please don't be hesitant to ask me for elaboration on some suggestions, comments, anything, I am more than happy to do so. (pref if you contact in-game)

  2. 00:14:928 (3) - I don't see a link between the long length and the music to be honest. I would do something like this, but the 3/4 gap between (4) and (1) would seem confusing for the beginner players (I think it's called polarity?).
  3. 00:31:543 - I wouldn't skip that beat. Even if the slider (2) follows the vocal, I wouldn't let a 3/2 gap here in easy. And I don't think it fits with the music in my opinion. The new rhythm starts on 00:31:543 which is kind of "more intense". You can do a rhythm like this:
  4. 00:43:235 to 00:50:620 - I get lost a bit with the new combo. To keep the new combo consistent, you should add the new combo to 00:43:235 (4,3) and remove it from 00:44:466 (1,1) .

Mochi's Normal

  1. 00:26:312 to 00:29:389 - Follow the beats instead of the vocals. Starting from 00:21:082 -, you mapped the beats, but after, it's vocals. So you should keep the consistency in the rhythm.
  2. 01:16:928 (4) - Remove this slider so you could let a circle on 01:17:082 ? The 1/2 slider doesn't make sense to me, so it sounds weird to me.
  3. 01:23:082 (2) - Flip this horizontally. The flow of 01:23:082 (2,3) seems unnatural for me when I play that part. Flipping it will make a direction to the next slider, instead of nothing.

guineaQ's Hard

  1. 01:05:082 (2) - I would unstack this slider from the previous slider. It makes a weird movement when the slider shoots, but the next slider is on the tail. You can make a pattern like this:
  2. 01:09:697 (1) - Why not a repeat slider? You can move the tail to x:161 y:77. The repeat slider will avoid the short distance created between this and the next circle with a gap of a beat. It makes a weird movement in my opinion.
  3. 01:13:851 (1) - To be honest, this looks like the old pattern in the 2009 maps. You can use a random shape I made:

  1. 00:25:389 - The 3/2 gap in the rhythm feels weird to me, and it should be mapped. It decided to follow the vocals, but that previous section follows the beats. So you could either add a 1/1 slider on 00:25:389 and a following circle on the red tick.
    There's also 00:27:851 which can be done with a 1/1 slider.
  2. 00:39:158 (4) - I'm not good with hitsounds, but replace the clap by a whistle? The clap sounds weird on the blue tick.
  3. 00:40:774 - Turn the two circles by a 1/1 slider? The slider velocity changes, so I think two circles with a small distance won't fit, since it makes a kind of weird and sudden movement. Plus, the slider would introduce the section where the slider velocity is low.
  4. 00:49:389 (1) - Move this more to the right to avoid the ugly overlap?
  5. 01:00:466 - It seems there's no kiai time. The kiai time should start here.
  6. 01:13:235 (2) - Move this more down, like x:191 y:214? To avoid the overlap and make the distance from this to the previous object larger.
  7. 01:18:312 - On this section, the rhythm is different from the similar previous section, 01:07:697 . There should be a gap on 01:18:466 and on 01:19:389 .

  1. As stated in the general box, don't use OD6, it's an OD that Hard-difficulties use and this isn't one. Moreover, this is the hardest Insane difficulty in this mapset so there's absolutely no reason to use such low OD. Fixed
  2. 00:10:005 (1,2,3,4) - I find this pattern to not flow that well, so you could consider using this; it'd give it more structure too! Can't understand the structure here...pointed out 4 notes but 5-6 notes in the picture. So far the flow looks fine imo
  3. 00:10:774 (1) - Do not extend this to the blue tick, there's no sound to support it and the vocals end at 00:10:928 - , it feels way too forced now and that's not good. Ending at white tick sounds a lot annoying for me, and the vocal doesn't really end there. If you start playing from the tick you can still hear a slight drag. Plus, I've considered the jump distance too, not to make it too big on 3/4
  4. 00:20:774 (3) - Feels too forced again, because 00:20:466 (1,2) - are the two main notes that the music has, so this (3) feels unnecessary. Consider removing it? Don't wanna ignore the vocal, it's important for me. Vocal at 3 = "ko", then next is "toba" > "kotoba"
  5. 01:11:235 (5,1) - Give it a lot more spacing, since you have such similar spacing with 01:11:543 (1,2) - , it's hard to read whether it's 1/2 or 1/4. Agree with this
  6. I didn't like this Insane, sorry. The reason for it is because the extensions feel way too forced and unnecessary when the song doesn't even support those, and the general structure seems to be missing. E.g 00:14:158 (3,4,5,6) - could be a proper square, but currently it's off a lot, 00:18:466 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - could be so many things but atm it's a triangle with an incorrect triangle at 00:18:774 (4,5,6) - and then there's incorrect blankets. The map itself could have so many shapes, cleaner patterns and that would make it a lot more structured. Everything I just said isn't meant to be taken as something rude, but as my personal opinion.

For me I don't get why we have to use a perfect square for jumps, sometimes it makes me harder to play for well arranged shapes

As long as it's clear to read, not too hard for the jump, I'm fine with it.

And, I personally like this style of gameplay, and would like to see more of them (this kind of pattern) on osu!
