Snaping Singles

So I finally got my laptop fixed and I can play again,

So I have another request and question:

First off I have been trying to snap practically every note and I have noticed that straight single patterns like the ones in saten maps have become somewhat easier to hit. I don't really think that there are any shortcuts to being good at this kind of snaping but if there is I's like to know.

Secondly I'd want some maps like this one: https://osu.ppy.sh/s/13244, so I could practice this type of snaping besides on every other map I play. But I want maps specifically with decent spacing between the circles like in that one.

Thanks.

I wish I knew the fast and easy way to improve at snapping, but I will tell you that I think maps which are high speed but also change direction just slightly on each note are the best for training snapping. A good example: https://osu.ppy.sh/s/33976

Secret to fast snapping is to play mouse. Or you could like not worry about such niche things.

On the contrary, snaping singles in my view is quite and important thing to get used to because later on it would be hell to click a row of 6 singles while trying to hover over them. Up until about 200BPM snapping circles is all fine and dandy but when songs start becoming faster it feels VERY unnatural and hard to snap each note in a line : <. It's kind of like playing squares at first it feels very weird at BPM's over 170~.

That is called spaced stream, you just need to time your beats properly and move at a steady pace which I find rare for people around my rank
(Read it wrong)
if they appear nicely in a row be it a curve or straight line, you just need to imagine one line and move your cursor while following the beat
You can snap but it is more tiring

Just go and play more Granat, easy pp song

Here is a map that killed everyone at the end

I'm going to answer this, in what I find to be the most honest way possible.

There are no shortcuts in osu!. Everything in osu! is improved by nothing other than practice. You can practice different things, for example streams, or 'snapping', or whatever else. But it comes down to how much you actually try to improve it.

Looking for shortcuts will just make you a worse player. You would fail to find any, get upset, and possibly quit as a result. If you want to get good, play the game.

Shortcuts don't exist™
Almost

Hint: most top players don't even "snap" fast singles with tablet.

I'm pretty sure they aren't doing anything snappier than just moving their cursor in time to hit notes. Snapping has the implication that you are getting to the hit circle much faster than you actually need to and then timing your key press separately. Maybe I'm working under a different definition of snapping than everyone else.

I only snap when I don't have the time to aim for it, it is like I am relying on my muscle memory rather than my sight

but for some songs like this one https://osu.ppy.sh/s/105142
I really have no choice but to just snap it
the only difficulty I can play is Easy... lol wut?

if u watch a replay at .5x speed, then they will stop at each one.

replays arent credible though

most tablet players don't snap on fast patterns (elysion/hvick225/wubwoofwolf are good examples), but others do (rrtyui, Cookiezi, Rucker). I think it looks 10x more badass when you snap to each note so that is why I think it's worth learning (and I also think it's more consistent in the long run; if you can snap to every circle in every position even at high speeds, you will rarely have a pattern you "just can't hit")

If you want to see extremely non-snappy playing, watch Silynn replays, it always makes me wonder how he even hits the notes

It's actually very easy to flow over straight line patterns.

I think it's easier to flow over them, but when you learn how to snap each one, the snapping will be a lot more consistent

Well flow is just undeveloped snapping, over time the transition will happen more or less on its own.

I think it's more of a preference sort of thing though, WWW has been around for a long time and has pretty much as much experience as you can get in osu, and he has a lot of flow, some of it even being intentional (He moves the cursor away and back on stacks).

i still can't get over silynn's movements. maybe he fixed it by now, but my god back in the day, i had to question my life because of how he playaed. i forgot to feed my children, my hair turned grey, and i had constant diarrhea. it was a terrible time.

moral of the story is that his snapping was weird as fuk but he still was able to play hard maps and fc them. snapping helps, but to a certain extent. a lot of it is just being able to time your clicks with your cursor movement, even with regards to flow.

Snapping is sexy af

Doomsday's necrofantasia DT has probably some of the sexiest cursor movement I have ever seen. Definitely a good watch if you ever need something to get off to get a chance.

^ all perfect snapping except for the last replay (which is why i suggested it as practice for snapping, since not even cookiezi can do it right)
