More than half of Osu probably is inactive. Sucks.
If I remember right, players inactive for more than thirty days are removed from the rankings until they play again in order to keep the rankings from being cluttered up with inactive players.
Players with 1 pp rounded up to tend to be in around 950,000 so.. around that many? Roughly a million I'd guess.
Wait- wait- found a player with 0 pp in the rankings- yep, it's around a million so about that many people play osu and are in the rankings.
Though players that low have usually played only a song or two so far.

About 200k, the rest are either new players that will leave never to be seen again, unranked accounts, or dupes.
150k per day, 700k per month.
Afaik active means you've set a new high score in the last 30 days.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I watched my account go to "user has not played enough" after exactly 30 days. This was in August.

We have to remember that the game have 4 modes to play (but most players usually are on std).
To me, active means you play a few hours a week. They can be all clumped together, or spread out over a week. But you should hvae 2 or 3 hours too be "active" imo.RaneFire wrote:

So I've had answers ranging from 150k to 1.8m... I guess it depends what your definition of active is haha.
Yeah I don't think this is right, I'm looking at a friends profile who hasn't logged on in 3 months, his rank is still visible. I think if they change the PP algorithm and you don't play, then it says that, cos I'm pretty sure they made changes to the PP algorithm around that time.RaneFire wrote:

I think just a year back osu! would peak at 6k players if I recall correctly. Now it's hitting 11k. Pretty crazy.
most of the community goes unknown and unnoticed, aka random ass people from a random ass country are somehow getting random ass good scores and they only talk to other random ass people that they know from random ass means.

So, basically, we don't have statistics which we can sort by monthly activity or weekly activity of all users registered?
