How would one go about choosing the button they wanted to use. Since I don't think the game distinguishes between Mouse only/+Keyboard players except though the disable mouse button option. Also there would need to be a no-fail quality to this mod to offset the problem with streams.

This will probably not happen. Not such a good idea imo.
What exactly is the use in this mod? ~ I think I'm missing it.....
From what I understand, you want to limit it so that players are only able to use a single key to play, but surely this has vastly skewed advantage to certain playstyles ~ I know lots of people who primarily single tap and only use additional for the really tight streams ~ in which case they would be at a significant advantage to the many players like me who use z for sliders and x for hitcircles, alternating if in a tight stream........
