[Archived] Osu glitches during gameplay

Problem Details:

Hi, so, when playing Osu, the song will freeze for a VERY short period of time, and then continue playing, causing me to miss notes. It does this with every song. Changing up the FPS, render, or disabling the beat map skin/storyboard/video have no effect on this. I've noticed it will even do this occasionally in the home menu.

Although the recording software made the game a bit glitchy, it freezes towards the end, causing me to fail.

Hmm, I don't know if this still happens. But, when a beatmap starts downloading, it takes osu! some time to process maps and freezes in the process.

Or it could be simply problems with your graphics card.

Also did you close all other programs?

It does this with all of the maps. I haven't downloaded any today.
I did some research and my graphics card should run okay with Osu. This has never happened before, and just started today.
All other programs are closed. :/

Try using a 'basic' windows theme and see if that helps.

Got the same problem, which is annoying me as f***.

Got an Alienware Mx17 running windows 8.1 (didn't have this problem on any windows 7 pc I played osu on). Its been bothering me for ages now, which makes me ask; might the game not be compatible with windows 8?

Will also be waiting for an answer and try the comment above as a solution.

Tried to change to the basic windows theme, didn't work. I noticed even the osu replay shows the glitch. I have exported 2 osu replays, would anyone mind checking to see if the problem is also showing when you're replaying them?

EDIT2

I used the default skin before, just installed a diffrent skin (Black 2014) which has reduced the glitchyness, has not removed it totally but it doesn't botter me as much anymore now.

Still hoping for someone to get a solution doe.
