With the new updates to the menu, chat-tabs and popups (like incoming PMs) kind of "rush" in from the side - personally I find this rather clunky and not all-too properly done.
Now, there are two simple courses of action I would just like to bring up since this came up in #modhelp:
Sure this is not a huge thing or "feature" but it's a little annoying as it is right now and I (and others) liked it more before the change, so give it a consideration please :p

- try to smoothen out the animation
- just give us a switch to turn it on and off in the options menu
