I just don't get how it works. I know that it requires alot of stamina and accuraty, but I always end up smashing my buttons like an idiot and break my combo, what get really frustrating. I've tried to get used to streams by starting with maps that have slower bpm streams but that's just even worse (or at least feels like it).

Press buttons at a constant rate at a constant speed. That's really all there is to it. Play more streams to get better at streaming. Really saying anything else is just saying empty words tbh.

You listen to the song and alternate your fingers one after the other

The problem with that is that I tend to singleteap them if they are too slow and that's now really helping at all.

Force yourself to alternate them? You aren't going to learn if you don't actually try, y'know?

Keep trying. You have to start somewhere, usually at the bottom.

It might feel like your fingers are utterly retarded because it's slow, but that's what practicing finger control is about. You'll get better over time.

Speed should be built upon technique, otherwise, as you said, it's just mashing.

I should've known that since I'm a musician aswell...well sometimes my brain seems not to work as it should. I'll do as you recommend me.

Mash each key as quickly as possible and hope you hit all of them.

ar9 is more confortable for me than ar8. that's why this map: https://osu.ppy.sh/s/119152 felt easier (some parts have some nice streams)

I am really surprised that no one mentioned about following the streams properly with the cursor

stream is not only about tapping constantly, your cursor movement also needs to move in sync with your tapping

Usually people miss by moving their cursor away too soon, this is usually seen in group matches between low-seeded or un-seeded teams
(ex. Indonesia vs Venezuela 2012)

I would pay attention to my cursor movement first, make sure it follows the circle properly and then tap accordingly
But I am not sure if that is the case for you

Just go and watch how the pros play, go spec or replay top 50

Moving with the stream isn't that big of a problem for me, unless the notes a really far aways from each other.

Streaming just breaks for me because my fingers just kind of lag on the keys and I can never properly steam, even if it is only for like 4 hit circles.
For almost everything, including this, just practice. Get the muscle memory for this.
Also start with slow streams.
Then go faster and faster and let your body develop.

I'm currently working on it, but I'm lacking in maps which have slow streams and are ar9. If someone would be so kind to give me some, I'd be super happy.
