A lot of the top taiko players are Japanese and a lot of the top osu!mania players are Korean? is taiko like popular in japan and mania popular in Korea?
Well I know that the Japanese do play an arcade taiko drum game. Other than that, I think maybe it's just because there are a lot of Japanese players in general playing this game.
In Japan, taiko is popular because of Taiko no Tatsujin games (arcade/home/mobile) In Korea, osu!mania is popular because of O2Jam, DJMAX, etc... (Beatmania IIDX is not one of the reasons I think.)
