An A with 36k bonus on DT+HR beats a 37k bonus on HD+HR+FL+DT?

Were scores ranked really differently back in 2008?

It's the score. Probably from spinner.

There's so few objects spinners are a big deal.

Actually, OP is correct that scores were calculated differently in ~2008 afaik. While it's correct spinners are much more of a big deal in maps with few objects, I think with those mod combinations/score bonuses it's safe to assume this kind of thing happened because of how the scoring system was in the early days of the game.
