My first beatmap. I'm not sure about anything. I will concider any feedback to try to make this map as good as I can.
I can't map easy stuff (too boring for me, I guess), so if anyone wants to do an easier diff, feel free to do it.
Well, I've convinced myself to do a normal and hard diff. I hope you'll enjoy them!
Also, I don't know what to put for background, so if anyone have a good idea, let me know.

Gotta say, they are pretty good for a first map (like, really good, lol, people normally don't even know how to set beats to the song appropriately).
For higher level maps, i would also go with higher grid level (3 or preferable 4). it's just better for adjustments.
If you ever want this to get ranked, you need to make a easy/normal and hard map as well or ask for guest diffs (GD). *me runs away*

[Insane]
00:05:149 (4,7) - you should stack, or make a smaller overlap, that's design choice
00:14:400 (6,7,8,9) - why no 1/8 beat mini sliders here?
00:24:067 (6,7,8) - ^
00:22:234 (11) - and 00:30:484 (5,6) - set circles, there's clearly sound here
00:25:817 - i'm not sure why you stop the pressure here, you should stream on
00:34:984 (6,7,8,9,10) - this looks messy because the overlaps don't look very nice
00:37:817 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - too much at the same places
00:40:650 - stop mapping at this point, and restart at either 00:44:650 - or 00:48:650 - . Also add beat to the latter, the vocal starts at this point.
(00:42:984 (1,2,3,4,5) - ugh, linear slider patterns... not really good, but if you like it.)
00:46:817 (4,5,6) - think of something more creative
00:48:650 (5,1) - you need a better transition, a circle alone is too abrupt i think. try a slider to the red tick
01:14:150 (11,12,1) - this one has such a weird flow, please rework the slider.
01:20:484 (1,2,3,4) - don't do this, but vary the sliders 3,4 from 1,2.
01:40:984 (4,5,6) - meh, look for a batter pattern
02:16:650 (1) - end spinner here, and map at (see below)
02:18:650 - start with a slider here. Also, for these calmer parts you usually go down with the SV. So please do that.
02:18:984 (1) - what many people don't consider is the beat of the song. NEVER start a slider on a downbeat, it destroys the rhythm of the song and makes players uncomfortable to play.
Listen to the song from 02:18:650 - on, it clearly goes upbeat-downbeat-downbeat-upbeat-downbeat-downbeat.
this problem goes on till 02:53:650 - , so fix them all up.
03:36:150 (7,8,9) - this hiccup doesn't fit to the song, put it out

There's much more to point out, but this should be a good starting point where you can improve your map.
The map is still messy, at many parts, but I've also seen many good patterns already (e.g. 02:37:817 -). How, where and what patterns to set, only comes with time and experience!
The better way to start is to map easy/normal map, that's how you learn basics faster.
For this reason, i won't look at you extra. Fix the issues and learn from other great mappers, there's lots of potential :)

While searching for new mods I've noticed that modders want mappers to reply and say why they changed or not the things pointed out by the modder.
Since I haven't done it, here it is.

5:149 : I prefer them like this. As you said, this is design choice.
14:400 : Had not noticed that. Thanks for pointing it out!
24:067 : I don't get what you mean by "^".
25:817 : I guess you're right there. I don't know why i stopped the stream.
34:984 : Rearranged things. I hope it's better know.
37:817 : Again, arranged the circles differently.
40:650 : I did stopped there as you suggested. I didn't like that part anyways.
48:650 : I tried something different. Don't know if it's better though.
1:14:150 : Fixed.
1:20:484 : Changed the pattern a bit, but it's basically the same.
1:40:984 : I swaped 4 and 5. I don't know if that's better.
2:16:650 : I like that, so I made it like this. Thanks!
2:18:984 : I did my best to fix that problem. I hope that it's now more comfortable to play.
3:36:150 : I agree. It's out.

[General]

  1. I searched around for some background for the map and found this one. Hope you like it!
  2. As a rookie mapper you should check Ranking Criteria and Standard Mode Ranking Criteria. Make sure your map follows it.
  3. I noticed you lack a Preview Point. You need one. Set it at 01:17:984 going to the Timing tab and selecting "Set Current Position as Preview Point"
  4. Play with hitsounds! Don't use only claps and place them in notes where they fit, otherwise your map sounds too monotonous and boring.
  5. You may have heard of overlaps. Basically, it's where a note is obstructing another. Try to avoid those when possible. When placing notes, it might be impossible, but avoid it when creating sliders. When you remap due to Dist. Snap issues in Normal (read below), you may be able to solve most of those problems.
[Normal]

  1. In Normal diffs you need to use a constant Distance Snap and have to make sure that your notes are placed according to it. You can adjust it pressing Alt in "Compose" and going where usually the beat snap divisor is. Hold Alt while you adjust the setting. I recommend some snap of 1.0x
  2. 00:20:317 (3) - Don't place 1/2 sliders with more than a reverse. Players can't read them well on Normals.
  3. 00:23:650 (5) - ^^ ...I will avoid mentioning repeated issues to avoid having some big mod full of needless repetitions of suggestions.
  4. 01:17:650 (3) - Um. 1/4 sliders in Normal are a no-no. Too hard to read them.
  5. 02:55:650 (1) - Don't manipulate slider speed like this. It's forbidden now.
  6. 03:04:650 (8,1,2) - The clearest example I found of overlaps.
  7. 03:34:817 (5,6,7,8,9) - Avoid making a pure-hit zone like this. Better change those for sliders.
[Hard]

  1. 00:12:317 (5) - Don't manipulate slider speed like this. I said so in Normal.
  2. 00:23:317 (4,5,6) - Don't include this kind of combo in Hard. It's hard to read for Hard players.
  3. 00:25:650 (5,6,7) - Overlap issue.
  4. 01:03:984 (3,4) - Stack those sliders's tails.
  5. 02:04:650 (1,1) - Why did you make those two New Combos? There's not need for that.
  6. 02:11:317 (1,1) - ^^ Also, fix the blanket.
  7. 03:17:817 (1,2,3,4,5) - Avoid placing more than three notes like this... it makes reading them hard.
At your request, I'll stop here.

Correct those issues you have.
You will be able to get this map better if you do so. Good luck! :)
Edit: Also, remember to give kudosu for modders who help you get better your map. I noticed you didn't did so for previous modder; that's why I'm pointing it out.

First of all, thanks for modding, it's really appreciated! :)
Also thanks for taking the time to search for a background and ot find one. I like it alot, so I'll use it. I did dome research on my side and I didn't find something better then this!

Now with the changes.

Normal diff:
20:317 : I replaced all the sliders with more then one reverse arrow (exept the last one, I think it's fine).
1:17:650 : All right, I took it out.
2:55:650 : Damn, I like the effect of those. Whatever, changed it to a normal slider.
3:34:817 : Fallowed you're suggestion. It's less scary I guess.
Overall : Fixed over laps and spacing issues. Hope it's better now.

Hard diff:
12:317 : Same as normal diff. Changed them all.
23:317 : All right, I changed it. It doesn't affect the map that much anyways.
25:650 : Ifixed that one. I checked for the rest of the map and didn't find any other overlap problem. Correct me if I'm wrong.
1:03:984 : Fixed.
2:04:650 : Idk... It's fixed.
2:11:317 : ^ Sorry, I don't know what you mean by "fix the blanket". :(
3:17:817 : I just put a biger space between the 3rd and 4th note (I don't think it's really hard to read, so I didn't changed the ones later).

I tried to make better use of hitsounds, but I still need a lot of help with that.
Added the background you suggested me. Again, I like it alot.

Thanks for modding!

I changed everything you said. I put a distance of snap 1 between each note that were too close, I think that's enough.
For 1:46:150, I just spaced the sliders, it's less messy; looks better.
For 3:11:984, I did what you said. I was douting that it was a bit hard for normal players, but was not sure, so I was waiting for someone to point it out.

hi! i was definitely not stalking knotts a bit. here i am tho and i just wanted to point out a couple things to help you since youre new~

  1. you should give kudosu to whoever helps your map in some way. so if you took changes from the modders there, which it seems like you did, you should give them kudosu. them being kristi71111 EndlessShadow Chaoslitz and nadapan. incase you dont know how yet, its this http://puu.sh/byW8o/7c8c5f7e7d.png. giving kudosu will boost your priority and make your map more noticable too.
  2. you can get time stamps easily by ctrl c the slider or the hitcircle. so if you highlight some slider, http://puu.sh/byWfg/17929bc3b1.jpg, and then ctrl c, itll come out formatted as "00:06:886 (1) - "or something so you dont have to type out the times. you can also click these timestamps to automatically bring yourself to that point in the map. that example timestamps from my map though o3o

I'd tone the Clap use down by quite a bit. I think it's overclapping ;-) It doesn't sound particulary amazing in the beginning, since thats sort of a soft build up.

[Normal]

I think it plays a bit too hard for a normal map.
01:01:817 (8,1,2,3,4,5,6) - This can be too hard to be considered normal.
00:19:650 (1,2,3,4,1) - Patterns like these are also more advanced.
00:33:650 (2,3,4) - Also pretty hard to read for newer players ^^
01:19:317 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - While this doesn't look or feel hard to a better player, a newer player will struggle, especially with short interrupts of the regular beat pattern and circles between slider ends and beginnings.

I'd go through this diff and try to make it a bit easier for people who've only been playing for two weeks or so and don't have a lot of experience with a bit more advanced patterns.

[Hard]

01:27:984 (5,6,7,8,9) - If you made the outer slider circle align a bit better, that would be amazing. Try rotating around selection centre :)
01:39:484 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - Sliders in these section could use some beautification :D
01:49:650 (6) - I'd put this one a bit more to the bottom right, just so it lines up neatly.
02:01:984 (4,5,6) - Beautify ;)
02:09:984 (1,2,3) - This can also use a better blanket

Sup, thanks for using my modding queue. I'm not the best mapper so some info may be ehhh or mehhh.

Quick notes before I begin: Yeah this maps pretty messy but it's your first map and I can say pretty easily that this is better than a lot of other beginners' first map (it's most definitely better than my first map, I'll tell you that). I'm most likely going to give general tips to keep this mod short.

General
  1. Remove "Nano"and "Pallete" from the tags as they're already listed somewhere else in the metadata.
  2. Generally you never want to use 100% hitsound volume.
  3. Stick to a pattern for comboing. One or two stanzas every NC with exceptions such as SV changes or parts you just feel need the emphasis.
  4. Experiment with different hitsounds, this song has a lot of cool things to work with
Insane
  1. I'm not sure how I feel about you mapping the intro. Those streams and jumps are way too crazy for such a quiet, calm sounding part of the song.
  2. 00:49:650 (2) - Sometimes it's sounds a lot better to map to the vocals. It would sound a lot better to switch the position of (2) with (3) on the timeline.
  3. 01:01:984 - A slider should be starting here. Listen to how the music changes and start a new pattern there.
  4. 01:02:484 (2,3,4,5) - Sounds really off starting from here. Move all the slider beginnings to the white ticks.
  5. 01:15:150 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - The music here doesn't really support a circle spam like this.
  6. 01:26:067 (1) - Spinner feels out of place. I know the vocal is carried but it'd make a lot more sense to just map it.
  7. 01:30:484 (1,2,3,4) - Removing overlaps such as this can make your map look a lot cleaner. You can easily fix the overlap by just spacing them out a little more.
  8. 01:54:984 (5,6,7) - This was pretty nice.
  9. 01:57:984 (4,5,6) - Waay too much spacing for such a calm part of the song.
  10. 01:57:984 (4,5,6) - Use approach circles to perfect your blankets. Example
  11. 02:56:650 - You should start a slider right here to follow the vocals.
  12. 03:12:650 - ^
I don't really want to mod the Normal or Hard and I can't even play the Expert difficulty so I'll just give some quick tips:

Normal: Most people prefer that you stick to one DS (distance space) throughout the whole song. With more experience you might be able to get away without constant DS. Typically you want to use longer sliders with 1/1 spacing from each to keep the difficulty at a minimum.

Hard: "Basically an Insane with less spacing" - Naitoshi 2013

I've passed over the norm diff again and made it generally easier (so I did changed all the thing you've pointed out). I didn't changed absolutely everything though (some circles between slider ends and beginnings still remins, but there are only 2 or 3 left).

I think a lot of ppl playing a hard diff, because the insane is too hard for them, will rage about this, because it can lead to slider fail. Normaly, you just leave your cusor in the middle and don't move. That's what I've alwways done with those sliders, even when I started, so it just didn't look like an issue for me. I still reduced the slider velocity from X2 to X1,75.

[Insane and Expert]

Too hard for me to really comment on :)

About the slider thing: Yeah, thats what you normally do, but in this case the pointed out slider is too long for that if I remember correctly. But it might still be possible.

Also, most of the circles that are spread apart? Try pulling them in to half of what they are spread out at.

I don't want to changed the inherited points at the beginning because this part of the song is faster then the rest. Unfortunatly, I don't get the other thiong you said. You should probably try to be more precise in your mods like saying what particular part of the song you are talking about. Since your mod wasn't usefull, I won't give you kudosu, I,m sorry :(
