A character sometimes appear at the start of message even they didn't typed/included it.

I think it's an non-unicode character and your osu! filter to not display it

Confirming. This started happening around the time auto-/np in #spectator was implemented, so I suspect it's related to that somehow.

ummm ctrl+backspace... might cause it?

Yep, this looks like it's a problem with the recent ctrl+backspace changes.
