Why is this? What causes it? Is it because it has to render through the desktop composition pipeline? I'm running it on the latest windows 8 and I can pump out a good amount of fps with opengl but it shouldn't be this delayed. Is it an issue with the display buffer? Does it work synchronously or asynchronously? The re has to be a way to fix this. I can't disable desktop composition (which is what I find to be the root cause of this lag) since I'm on windows 8.
I'm asking this because I can't seem to get directx to run on my laptop anymore (I've got the latest drivers installed) This problem was fixed.
