  2. 01:22:916 (1) - Discussed with Garven, this spinner is too short, therefore too difficult for beginners. The best way to go about fixing this without removing the only spinner is to extend it to 01:25:583 - and delete 01:25:583 (1).

  1. 00:41:583 (4) - Same as Easy basically. You could try using a repeat slider to cover 00:41:916 to follow the drums accurately.

[Prayer's Hard]

  1. The difficulty is lacking a spinner. I suggest trying to fit one in, 01:22:916 - may be the only optimal place so you would need to remove what's already mapped there to do so. This would prevent a static leaderboard and provide highly skilled players incentive to improve beyond SSing for the first time. (If you're in favor of a spinner, add a note for the powerful hit to 01:22:916 - and start the spinner shortly after.)

  1. Same as Hard, especially with Insane it's not so much exciting when top scores never change.

A little disappointing that you don't want a spinner for Hard and Insane but it's certainly not an issue.

Remember to add the audio lead-in and i'll qualify this.

Hello! Sorry but I have to unrank this. The difficulty gap between Normal and Hard is too big compared to the difficulty gap between Hard and Insane, making the spread uneven towards to the harder side. As a general tip to make the Hard easier, try reducing the note density (mainly the 1/4 usage), as it currently is nearly identical to Insane.

I will be posting a personal mod for this as soon as I'm done with it. The map will however be handled by BATs from now on. I apologize for unranking this this close to qualification - let's hope that requalification won't take too long!

Here is the mod as promised. I'd like to emphasize that this is my personal mod and does not represent the opinion of the QAT at large.

General
  • The tag "on" is useless, as tags under 3 characters are not taken into account. You should use "back-on" as tag instead.
  1. I would use offset 255 (+5 from what you have).
Easy
  1. 00:02:921 (1,2,3) - I find it weird how this is suddenly denser than the rest of the introduction. It feels quite surprising and inconsistent - I would suggest to keep using 2/1 sliders to make it more consistent. Unlike 00:06:921 (3,4) - the song does not get any denser at this point, so the map shouldn't either !
  2. 00:15:921 (3,2) - This is a bit nazi of me, but this overlap looks really weird, and the angled slider contrasts in a bad way with the smooth looks of the diff as a whole. I suggest you use a normally curved slider and try to make this overlap a bit better, or remove the overlap at all.
  3. 00:26:921 (1,3) - Then 00:30:921 (3,1) - the stacks aren't perfect. Watch out for this kind of little thing, as it can easily make a map look worse than it should. There are others in the map, I'll let you find them !
  4. 00:38:921 (3) - Rotate this so that it doesn't overlap with 00:37:254 (4) - ?
  5. 00:42:921 (1) - From this to 00:58:921 (1) - the hitsounding becomes inconsistent. As you noticed, the drums go nearly silent at this part of the song, so you should try to follow that in the map too. What I suggest is to only use a clap hitsound every 4th note of each measure, which means the following:
    1. 00:44:254 (3) - Remove the clap from this slider's middle beat.
    2. 00:48:254 (1) - Remove this one as well.
    3. 00:53:588 (1) - Remove this one as well.
    4. 00:57:588 (3) - And this one.
    After that the hitsounding will be more consistent and closer to the song.
  6. 01:02:421 (2,2) - Add claps on these two ? I have the feeling it would go well with the song. Also it will make the hitsounding a bit less empty, as your clap usage now is unfortunately quite scarce. If you do, do the same for 01:13:088 (2,2) - .
    This was honestly a really good Easy. It's mostly consistent (save for that hitsounding thing I pointed out) and for once the comboing is consistent all the way through so you have my cheers for that.

  1. 00:08:583 (2) - For the beginning up to this note included, I genuinely think that the 1/2 is unnecessary. I understand you did that to vary the rhythm to avoid having a constant 1/1, but the 1/1 fits the song perfectly and would play well for an introduction.
  2. 00:21:583 (1) - Hitsounds are a bit hard to hear at this section, can you up the volume a bit ? 70-75% would do.
  3. 00:29:583 (1) - This slider goes waaaaaaaaay out of the playfield. Try to tuck it in if you can.
  4. 00:42:916 (1) - See my mod on Easy - at this point it would be more fitting to the song to use the snare (hitclap) only on the 4th beat of each measure.
  5. 01:18:916 (4) - Not a big fan of this slider's shape. The little dent at the end plays weird and might be confusing. Also it's the only "weird" slider in the entire difficulty, which makes it extra surprising.
  6. 01:23:083 (1) - This spinner is too short ! Please extend it to 01:24:916 - !
  7. 01:27:416 (5) - This slider being 1/2 was quite surprising to me. I expected a 1/1 slider to repeat the rhythm from 01:25:583 (1,2,3) - which would have been a bit easier to play and more intuitive!
Prayer's Hard
  1. First of all, AR8 is really too fast for this. AR7 works very well and makes the spread much better.
  2. As explained in the unrank post, the note density is too high on this. I'd suggest getting rid of every 1/4 in the map for a start, as they are mostly not quite fitting, especially in the beginning. I'll point out specifically what I think should be changed to make the difficulty fit better in the spread.
  3. 00:01:749 (1) - For consistency, remove this new combo. Using a new combo every second second white tick would work well for the beginning and go with the constant 1/1 rhythm. Same goes for 00:04:416 (1) - .
  4. 00:01:916 (2,3) - I think it would play better to turn this into a 1/1 slider then a circle 1/2 after. It would be more consistent with the whole 1/1 rhythm in the song, and you would have the transition towards the new combo with 00:02:583 (4) - and without having to use an extra unfitting 1/4. Same goes for 00:04:583 (2,3) - of course.
  5. 00:02:833 (5) - Talking about extra unfitting 1/4, this note doesn't fit, especially not in a Hard. I'd understand you'd want something like this for an Insane, but in a Hard, it's surprising and confusing. Stick to 1/2 at best for this part. It is also not consistent with 00:04:583 (2,3) - .
  6. 00:09:249 (4,5,1) - This 1/4 does fit, but I dislike the way you map it. The spaced-stack thing is confusing to read. You should keep it spaced with 0.5x spacing or lower if you want, but don't change the spacing in the middle of the triple.
  7. 00:13:249 (4) - Unfitting 1/4 here again. It's even a kick slider, which doesn't add much to the map, so I'd keep it a 1/2 slider at best.
  8. 00:14:916 (1,2,3,4) - The map becomes a lot denser at this point while the song does not. You should keep using this kind of rhythm 00:13:583 (1,2,3,4) - . Same goes for 00:17:583 (1,2,3,4,5) - and 00:20:249 (1,2,3,4,5) - .
  9. 00:21:583 (1) - Starting here, try to map more to the vocals and less to the drums to make this less dense, as this is a Insane-level density, which is the main problem of this difficulty. For example, you can use a 1/1 slider followed by a circle 1/2 after for 00:21:583 (1,2) - 00:22:249 (3,4,5) - 00:24:916 (3,4) - 00:29:583 (1,2) -
  10. 00:26:083 (3,4,5,6) - This is really confusing. I dislike the extended slider, although it arguably fits, but the 1/4 right after it is overkill. You can keep the 3/4 slider, but please remove the 1/4 triple and just use 1/2.
  11. 00:37:500 (5) - Same here. This would be fine for an Insane, but in a Hard, I think it's an unnecessary addition.
  12. 00:46:416 (4) - This shouldn't be extended at all. Make it 1/2 because there is a strong vocal on 00:46:583 - that you are ignoring.
  13. 00:47:083 (1,2,3) - Unfitting triple, here again, especially in a slower part of the song, which you even emphasized by reducing your usage of the snare sample.
  14. 00:48:249 (1) - Unnecessarily extended here again. You are ignoring the strong vocal at 00:48:416 -
  15. 00:52:499 (2) - Unfitting 1/4 again !
  16. 01:00:916 (2,3) - This is a good idea, but I think it would work better with circles instead of sliders for this difficulty. The added 1/2 would be fine in an Insane, but feel a bit overkill for a Hard.
  17. 01:22:999 (1) - I dislike the way this starts 1/4 after the note, but it's not big deal.
Insane
  1. 00:00:250 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5) - This is a bit confusing for the very first pattern in the map, I think.
  2. 00:02:916 (5,1) - To stay consistent with your comboing here, (5) should be the new combo.
  3. 00:08:249 (1,2,3) - This plays weird. Why did you change from circle-circle-slider to slider-circle-circle when the song didn't change ? Doing something like 00:06:249 (1,2,3) - would be much better !
  4. 00:42:916 (4) - Add a new combo here because this starts an entirely new part of the song, with the scarce drums and lack of background instruments. Also, refer to my mod on Easy regarding the hitsounds.
  5. 01:00:416 (1) - It would be a lot more intuitive to end this on the white tick. This ending on the red tick is surprising and quite confusing.
As I said earlier, this is my personal thoughts on the map. The mapset will be handled by BATs from now on, but I am open if you have any questions regarding the mod, the unrank or the process. Best of luck!

I suggest you use a normally curved slider and try to make this overlap a bit better, or remove the overlap at all. / why? what intention?
  3. 00:26:921 (1,3) - Then 00:30:921 (3,1) - the stacks aren't perfect. Watch out for this kind of little thing, as it can easily make a map look worse than it should. There are others in the map, I'll let you find them ! / No. now is accurate stack
  4. 00:38:921 (3) - Rotate this so that it doesn't overlap with 00:37:254 (4) - ? / ??????
  5. 00:42:921 (1) - From this to 00:58:921 (1) - the hitsounding becomes inconsistent. As you noticed, the drums go nearly silent at this part of the song, so you should try to follow that in the map too. What I suggest is to only use a clap hitsound every 4th note of each measure, which means the following:
    1. 00:44:254 (3) - Remove the clap from this slider's middle beat.
    2. 00:48:254 (1) - Remove this one as well.
    3. 00:53:588 (1) - Remove this one as well.
    4. 00:57:588 (3) - And this one.
    After that the hitsounding will be more consistent and closer to the song. / All No. Don't like hitsounding
  6. 01:02:421 (2,2) - Add claps on these two ? I have the feeling it would go well with the song. Also it will make the hitsounding a bit less empty, as your clap usage now is unfortunately quite scarce. If you do, do the same for 01:13:088 (2,2) - .
    This was honestly a really good Easy. It's mostly consistent (save for that hitsounding thing I pointed out) and for once the comboing is consistent all the way through so you have my cheers for that.

  2. As explained in the unrank post, the note density is too high on this. I'd suggest getting rid of every 1/4 in the map for a start, as they are mostly not quite fitting, especially in the beginning. I'll point out specifically what I think should be changed to make the difficulty fit better in the spread. / No. don't need obstinately
  3. 00:01:749 (1) - For consistency, remove this new combo. Using a new combo every second second white tick would work well for the beginning and go with the constant 1/1 rhythm. Same goes for 00:04:416 (1) - . / sure fixed
  4. 00:01:916 (2,3) - I think it would play better to turn this into a 1/1 slider then a circle 1/2 after. It would be more consistent with the whole 1/1 rhythm in the song, and you would have the transition towards the new combo with 00:02:583 (4) - and without having to use an extra unfitting 1/4. Same goes for 00:04:583 (2,3) - of course. / Sorry. this no. this not prb
  5. 00:02:833 (5) - Talking about extra unfitting 1/4, this note doesn't fit, especially not in a Hard. so, because there's a massive communcation error here it looks like, I'm going to comment

your map was unranked because of the above reasons, denying them based on the fact that you don't like the suggestions is definitely not helping you get it reranked

especially not for the reasoning "don't like hitsounding"

you should really take some time to look over the mod again and look at it from a perspective that isn't just your own and improve your map.

because as it looks, it's definitely not getting reranked in the state it's in according to Shiro's mod

Well that's disappointing. The current Hard plays wonderfully and I would suggest the below instead:

If HabiHolic insists on having Prayer's Hard closely resemble its current state for re-ranking, an alternative course of action would be to map an easier Hard difficulty with reduced note density and approach rate. This should bridge the difficulty gap in the spread; avoid having it lean too much on the harder side like Shiro mentioned.

Something to consider.

Then it would be better to rename to Prayer's Insane, because that is an Insane. But that works.
