My sides.
Seriously though...
Play smart. Then play more.
If you're gonna injure yourself, not very smart.
Isn't it common sense to take a break from the computer every hour or so and unhealthy to be on it for 12 hours a day?
Playing more by volume is different from playing more by interval. You can play a couple hours a day for a couple days a week and still be good at this game. If you play like that for several years like that you're bound to be better than someone who has played the same amount of time crammed into a much shorter time span. I know of a couple players who played very seldom and were pretty good
Some people play for really long extended periods of time every day. Said people tend to get burnt out, stressed, tired, or even injured. These are pretty big set backs and they can prevent you from playing more. You can also even develop bad habits from rushing yourself into maps/mods you can't really play yet.
Of course there are outliers who can play ridiculous amounts of time every day and become really good, but honestly how many people are like that? It comes to a point where previous experience (musical instruments, physical activities, etc) and genetics can affect the way you play. Someone who has a good understanding of how to play an instrument and reading music sheets can have an easier time understanding this game and can quickly adapt because their fingers are already developed for quick movements: Azer is a prime example of this (not trying to promote him, just using him as an example). Lewa played the drums, and I think tom played the piano too.
