I am terribly sorry, but I had a sudden break with osu! and I forgot to post "Closed". Since it's over 11 months ago you requested this, I asume you've already got the bitrate lowered.

Uhm hi so I have a problem. I started mapping this mp3 file that is around 5.30 mins long ( too long lol ) and now I want to cut it, is it safe to just use mp3DirectCut to cut the exact same mp3 file and then put it in the song folder of my beatmap while deleting the old, longer version of the song? Thanks!

I think it's safe as long as you delete the old file (or else you'd get a duplicate map I believe). Make sure you name it exactly the same as the mp3-file name you originally used for the beatmap. only 99% sure on this!Ars Novaa wrote:

It should sound almost perfect, I know it's not, but sometimes the short version of songs can be extremly difficult to find.

I also faded out the end, sounds better, so why not.
The offset should be the same.
Make sure the mp3 name is the same when putting in new one, think I named it correctly.
