Whats with the random spacing? it looks like you tried to make an insane or something but failed :/

There aren't any drums untill the kiai, which still, then is only just a kickdrum beat. your claps don't fit.

edit: also did some teaching in irc to how to use hitsounds properly

dont have logs sry

the spacing should make sense in the hard...most of it's snapped until the end of each section or kiai time.

i don't know how people hitsound, it's all been inferred from other maps. do you mean i shouldn't have claps unless there are drum sounds? should i have anything in the other sections then? do i replace the claps with whistles?

edit: IRC modded hitsounds with Kibbleru
Momoka
IRC modded with the mapper.

22:10 xxdeathx: hi
22:10 xxdeathx: could i ask you for help getting the ending song of the comic artist and assistants ranked?
22:10 *xxdeathx is editing [http://osu.ppy.sh/b/438873 StylipS - Spica. (TV Size) [Hard]]
22:11 xxdeathx: i don't know what i need to do now to get a BAT to look at it
22:11 No Dap: ask them
22:11 No Dap: but make sure your map is ready
22:12 xxdeathx: what do you mean map is ready
22:12 No Dap: ready for rank
22:12 xxdeathx: i have no idea
22:12 xxdeathx: i don't have any ranked maps so my judgement may be inaccurate
22:12 xxdeathx: i've gotten several mods, it looks good to me
22:15 No Dap: I don't know why the last spinner
22:15 No Dap: is so long?
22:15 No Dap: 01:25:857 - end it here maybe
22:15 xxdeathx: i ended it where the music fades
22:15 xxdeathx: shoul di end it sooner?
22:15 No Dap: it's
22:16 No Dap: barely hearable at the end
22:16 No Dap: so you should just end it where vocal ends
22:16 xxdeathx: i see
22:16 No Dap: 00:04:132 - whistle missed
22:17 No Dap: oh never mind
22:17 xxdeathx: i was talking to kibbleru earlier, he said put whistle on all melody and vocals
22:17 No Dap: yeah you did it correctly
22:18 No Dap: http://puu.sh/9FZjd/8f66227039.png
22:18 No Dap: 00:39:477 - the overlap here is really not looking pretty
22:19 xxdeathx: do you need to worry about overlap if the ghost of the old slider has faded away?
22:19 No Dap: it really doesn't matter
22:19 No Dap: but it's for neatness
22:19 No Dap: you don't need to change
22:20 No Dap: 00:40:684 - finish here really loud
22:20 No Dap: breaking the music imo
22:20 xxdeathx: yeah because changing would be difficult
22:20 No Dap: best change it to whistle
22:20 xxdeathx: agreed
22:21 No Dap: 01:11:408 - the over lap over here tho
22:21 No Dap: is pretty noticeable
22:21 xxdeathx: it's eaiser to change
22:22 No Dap: yeah.
22:22 No Dap: other than that easy looks nice
22:23 xxdeathx: modders have said it's the best difficulty =/
22:23 No Dap: although kind of plays like normal
22:23 No Dap: but bpm is slow, so w/e
22:24 No Dap: 00:10:684 - overlap here
22:25 No Dap: overlaps which are visible at 00:06:546 - and 00:10:684 -
22:25 No Dap: are you here
22:25 xxdeathx: yeah
22:25 xxdeathx: i'm changing spinners and timing sections in all diffs
22:25 No Dap: ok seems like bacho is a bit lagging
22:26 No Dap: 00:40:684 - here same as easy
22:26 *No Dap is editing [http://osu.ppy.sh/b/442051 StylipS - Spica. (TV Size) [Normal]]
22:26 No Dap: the finish
22:27 xxdeathx: already took care of hitsounds across all diffs too
22:27 xxdeathx: the ones you pointed out
22:27 No Dap: 00:45:512 (4,5) - these are straight up overmapped
22:27 No Dap: and is unaccetpable for normal diff
22:27 No Dap: especially this calm song
22:27 xxdeathx: one slider then?
22:27 No Dap: 2 circles
22:27 No Dap: or 1 slider
22:29 No Dap: it plays better when this is gone 00:53:443 -
22:29 xxdeathx: 2 circles
22:29 No Dap: its actually overmapped too.
22:30 No Dap: overlap here too 01:03:098 -
22:30 No Dap: 00:55:857 - same as above. sounds better when it's just 1 circle
22:31 xxdeathx: instead of slider?
22:31 No Dap: yes
22:31 No Dap: 00:56:201 - there is a beat here, but its barely audible
22:31 No Dap: I'd just leave this empty to emphasize vocal end 00:55:857 -
22:32 xxdeathx: got it
22:35 No Dap: 00:05:253 - this should be snapped to 00:05:224 -
22:35 No Dap: its 1/12 beat :3
22:36 No Dap: pianos lol
22:36 xxdeathx: omfg
22:36 xxdeathx: i knew that when i first mapped this
22:36 xxdeathx: but i was hoping nobody would notice
22:36 No Dap: but then
22:36 No Dap: 1/12 snapp would be hard
22:36 No Dap: how about this http://puu.sh/9G0sL/25be0fed5a.png
22:37 No Dap: just like your normal
22:37 No Dap: this is actually unrankable, becuase it's wrongly snapped.
22:38 xxdeathx: or i could just remove the note
22:38 No Dap: yeah
22:38 No Dap: I wish the spacing were more consistent
22:38 xxdeathx: it's more fun to play with the note as is but it wouldn't fit the music (however small the difference is)
22:39 xxdeathx: i ignored some distance snapping here but should i just distance snap everything?
22:39 No Dap: it's best to keep them consistent in such slow song
22:39 No Dap: unless you have reasons
22:39 No Dap: such as emphasizing etc.
22:39 No Dap: for insance, 00:05:857 (2,3,4,5,6) - this part is all the same piano
22:40 No Dap: nothing going on, so it'd be nice if the spacing were consistent
22:41 xxdeathx: fixed it
22:41 No Dap: on the other hand
22:41 No Dap: 00:08:615 - for this
22:41 No Dap: you could swap the spacing to emphasize the beat 00:08:960 -
22:42 No Dap: somwhere like 116 : 36
22:42 xxdeathx: make 00:08:615 (3) - further from 00:08:960 (4) - ?
22:43 No Dap: yes
22:43 No Dap: same goes for 00:09:650 (5,6,1) -
22:44 xxdeathx: got it
22:45 No Dap: is there any reason why DS decresed by .1 from this point 00:19:305 -
22:46 xxdeathx: my bad, DS was supposed to be 1.3 for this whole seciton
22:46 xxdeathx: section
22:46 xxdeathx: actually
22:46 xxdeathx: well i intended to have lower DS for that section yes
22:46 No Dap: ok
22:46 xxdeathx: and increase it to 1.4 for the 3rd section
22:47 No Dap: 00:23:960 - z
22:47 No Dap: this
22:47 No Dap: I see what you did here
22:47 No Dap: but the spacing here is too big
22:47 No Dap: when they do this in hard diff, people usually stack or overlap
22:48 No Dap: also the hitsound is really bugging so you could add 5% volume here
22:48 No Dap: to silence the end
22:48 xxdeathx: stack/overlap what
22:49 No Dap: http://puu.sh/9G1cD/df32daa2a0.png
22:49 No Dap: this
22:49 No Dap: usually overlap like this http://puu.sh/9G1fV/576c30dc62.png
22:50 No Dap: the slider end and head
22:50 xxdeathx: i think the slider is too far to reach it
22:51 xxdeathx: oh move both
22:51 No Dap: your current one is too far
22:51 No Dap: its in fact using 1.8 spacing
22:52 No Dap: 00:28:960 (6,7) - I would just make these 2 circles tbh
22:52 No Dap: these aren't really fitting here
22:53 xxdeathx: just those two?
22:53 No Dap: oh there are more
22:54 No Dap: 00:30:684 -
22:54 No Dap: 00:31:891 -
22:54 No Dap: I'm just copying time stamps because my laptop crashes if i try to copy objects
22:54 No Dap: sometimes
22:58 xxdeathx: and all the ones in the next section too?
22:58 No Dap: 00:42:581 -
22:58 No Dap: 00:41:201 -
22:58 No Dap: overmapped
22:58 No Dap: and so on
22:58 No Dap: I think i will have to stop here,
22:59 xxdeathx: alright
22:59 No Dap: I have to go to bed. I have work at 7am tomorrow :3
22:59 No Dap: good luck

Hi, M4M

[General]
  1. Source should be マンガ家さんとアシスタントさんと or Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to. The Japanese source is preferred, since the source is originally in Japanese. However, if you choose to use the English source, make sure you add the second "to" at the end, because you missed it.
  2. Remove all of the commas from the tags. Tags are separated by space, and not comma.
  3. Maybe you should pick another background instead of using an ending card, because it has that kinda "See you next time!" thing on it. Up to you though..

[Easy]
  1. The high SV with low DS makes it a bit awkward for me. When I play it, I tend to overshoot when moving between objects since the DS is low. Not a big problem though.
  2. 00:03:443 (3,4) - Try to make the blanket cleaner: http://puu.sh/9HwjJ/6afc2c0735.jpg You can achieve this by disabling grid snap, and moving (4) so that the distance between the inner edge of (3) is a constant distance from (4) all the way around. If you fix this, make sure to also re-align 00:04:822 (1) with (4) and restack 00:05:857 (2,1) with (4).
  3. 00:18:615 (1) - I feel that some beginners may be inclined to hit this early at 00:17:926 since that's where the vocals begin, and the head is obscured by the end of 00:15:857 (1) which could confuse the player.
  4. 00:30:339 (1,2) - This flow feels a bit awkward. I think it would improve if you adjusted the angle of (2) to flow more naturally from (1): http://puu.sh/9HwFE/bbea6d2003.jpg
  5. 00:40:684 (1,2) - Fix blanket.

[Normal]
  1. Not really a problem, but what's with the irregular SV? 1.96 seems a bit random...
  2. 00:10:339 (1,4) - Overlap looks a bit awkward. Maybe you could, instead, make an equilateral triangle with 00:11:029 (2,3,4) and stack end of (1) with head of (4) for a cleaner look.

[Hard]
  1. Again with the weird SV.
  2. 01:13:788 - Remove useless green line.
  3. 00:02:064 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - I would suggest a rhythm to better reflect the rhythmic stresses of the musical phrase, as slider heads are stronger than circles and slider ends: http://puu.sh/9IZ5F/55d40594da.jpg
  4. 00:05:339 (2) - I don't recommend 1/4 beat end stacks... It could be a bit confusing for some players. I'd suggest to either use equal spacing between (1,2,3) or stack (2) on head of (3).
  5. 00:17:236 (3,4) - This end stack is confusing because of the low AR. I clicked early when I played this. I'd suggest to unstack it.
  6. 00:23:443 (5,1) - Slider end on (5) is overmapped. The rhythm you mapped does not match the music, as there is no 1/4 rhythm in the music. Shorten (5) by 1/4 tick.
  7. 00:46:891 (3,4,5) - Flow here is a bit awkward to play, as it forms an uncomfortable zigzag pattern. I was expecting something rounder, more like: http://puu.sh/9IZx0/9acea0079f.jpg
  8. 01:09:650 (3) - I feel that Ctrl+G would flow nicer.

The map is decent.

[Easy]
  1. The high SV with low DS makes it a bit awkward for me. When I play it, I tend to overshoot when moving between objects since the DS is low. Not a big problem though. don't easies usually have 1.0 DS, which I thought was relative to SV? or is it calculated differently?
  2. 00:03:443 (3,4) - Try to make the blanket cleaner: http://puu.sh/9HwjJ/6afc2c0735.jpg You can achieve this by disabling grid snap, and moving (4) so that the distance between the inner edge of (3) is a constant distance from (4) all the way around. [Normal]
  1. Not really a problem, but what's with the irregular SV? 1.96 seems a bit random... i read somewhere a long time ago (when i first tried mapping) that it helps to use a slider velocity of 1 plus a multiple of 0.12 so that the ends of straight sliders will be perfectly aligned with the grid
  2. 00:10:339 (1,4) - Overlap looks a bit awkward. Maybe you could, instead, make an equilateral triangle with 00:11:029 (2,3,4) and stack end of (1) with head of (4) for a cleaner look. done

[Hard]
  1. Again with the weird SV.
  2. 01:13:788 - Remove useless green line. done, in case i wanted to increase the SV in the second half
  3. 00:02:064 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - I would suggest a rhythm to better reflect the rhythmic stresses of the musical phrase, as slider heads are stronger than circles and slider ends: http://puu.sh/9IZ5F/55d40594da.jpg done, hope the new note placement is good though
  4. 00:05:339 (2) - I don't recommend 1/4 beat end stacks... It could be a bit confusing for some players. I'd suggest to either use equal spacing between (1,2,3) or stack (2) on head of (3). the music of (2) belongs with (1) so I went with equal spacing.
  5. 00:17:236 (3,4) - This end stack is confusing because of the low AR. I clicked early when I played this. I'd suggest to unstack it. done

  8. 01:09:650 (3) - I feel that Ctrl+G would flow nicer. idk it feels awkward but i'll go with it and see

[Easy]
  1. 00:18:615 (1,2) - check DS

  3. 00:49:995 (2) - ^
  4. 00:37:926 (1) - it is better to set red anchor on the slider tick for good rhythm
  5. 00:45:167 (2) - delete
  6. 01:01:719 (3) - becouse of easy-diff, it is better to add a little break. just a sugetion

[Normal]
  1. 00:11:719- whistle?
  2. 00:39:305 (4,5,6) - suggetion
  3. 01:09:305 (2,3,4,1) - not good flow

[Hard]
  1. 00:45:512 (4) - whistle
  2. 00:48:098 (6,7) - swap whislte
  3. 01:11:029 (1,2,3) - confusing pattern. I recommend to make other pattern
  4. 01:22:753 (2) - I prefer to rotate 30~45 degrees clockwise

good beatmap

[Easy]

00:46:201 (1,3) - look better if curved imo
01:11:029 (1,2) - how bout inver vertically? so (2) is symmetrical

[Normal]

00:18:615 (1,3) - would look better if these were curved imo
00:55:857 (3) - put at previous slider head like in 00:51:719 (1,2,3)
01:02:753 (1,2,3) - look better if all straight. *but keep angle

[Hard]

00:14:477 (4) - make symmetry with next slider

  1. 00:18:615 (1,2) - check DS it was a little off, fixed
  2. 00:27:926 (2) - 1/2 slider is better (not reverse) done
  3. 00:49:995 (2) - ^ this one has music on every tick
  4. 00:37:926 (1) - it is better to set red anchor on the slider tick for good rhythm done
  5. 00:45:167 (2) - delete done
  6. 01:01:719 (3) - becouse of easy-diff, it is better to add a little break. just a sugetion i'll consider

[Normal]
  1. 00:11:719- whistle? done
  2. 00:39:305 (4,5,6) - suggetion done
  3. 01:09:305 (2,3,4,1) - not good flow meant to be symmetric but i moved (3) lower

[Hard]
  1. 00:45:512 (4) - whistle done
  2. 00:48:098 (6,7) - swap whislte done
  3. 01:11:029 (1,2,3) - confusing pattern. I recommend to make other pattern don't know how it's confusing, but i ctrl-g'd the first two sliders
  4. 01:22:753 (2) - I prefer to rotate 30~45 degrees clockwise done

nice relax map ;)

good beatmap

[Easy]

00:46:201 (1,3) - look better if curved imo curved (1)
01:11:029 (1,2) - how bout inver vertically? so (2) is symmetrical this flows better

[Normal]

00:18:615 (1,3) - would look better if these were curved imo this time it looks fine
00:55:857 (3) - put at previous slider head like in 00:51:719 (1,2,3) actually i put it where it is to comply with distance snap, but i'll consider it if it's possible to adjust everything
01:02:753 (1,2,3) - look better if all straight. *but keep angle i think it's fine

[Hard]

00:14:477 (4) - make symmetry with next slider actually this is the middle slider and the two around it are supposed to be symmetrical
thanks for m4m!

Ok GO!

00:37:926 (1) - This slider looks unbalanced
01:06:546 (2) - Consider using this to blanket note before
01:11:029 (1,2,3) - Flow feels weird here

Practically no mistakes at all. Nice Easy diff~
00:55:857 (3) - Consider putting this note between the 2 sliders

Weird flows here and there, but after looking at it for a while, I guess you can't help it either. Nice Normal~ Barely needs mods
00:03:443 (4) - Consider flipping this
00:19:995 (3) - Consider Ctrl+G this
00:24:132 (1,2,3,4) - This pattern seems too boring
00:28:960 (6,7) - Perhaps lead better into next slider?
00:40:684 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - This part can get confusing. This also happens a few times

I find some weird blanket problems, some distance snapping problems, and also some pattern problems. They seem to map the map boring, somewhat 2008-style. Try to fix up on those things.

Sorry if this mod seemed useless, because this map is rather short and I can't do much~

01:06:546 (2) - Consider using this to blanket note before this flows better
01:11:029 (1,2,3) - Flow feels weird here changed it a little

Practically no mistakes at all. Nice Easy diff~
00:55:857 (3) - Consider putting this note between the 2 sliders it needs to be close enough to the next objects though

Weird flows here and there, but after looking at it for a while, I guess you can't help it either. Nice Normal~ Barely needs mods
00:03:443 (4) - Consider flipping this doesn't flow well into next circle
00:19:995 (3) - Consider Ctrl+G this also bad flow
00:24:132 (1,2,3,4) - This pattern seems too boring don't know what else to use
00:28:960 (6,7) - Perhaps lead better into next slider? changed pattern around
00:40:684 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - This part can get confusing. This also happens a few times don't think so

Yo; modding here.

*Bolded = Unrankable or very, very strongly suggested; red = Highly suggested or questionable (still weaker than the bolded ones); black = Minor suggestions/rants; blue = Notes/advices to avoid/fix repeated problems. Also note that hitsound suggestions on a diff may apply on similar parts of the song and the other diffs of the mapset.

>Easy
  1. 00:03:098 (2) - Move to (257,267) for a better flow from 00:02:064 (1) and to 00:03:443 (3) since it follows the sliders' curve much better?
  2. 00:08:960 (2) - What's with the finish? This breaks the relaxing atmosphere of the song and map, and there isn't any heavy instrument here. Please remove the finish and use a whistle instead.
  3. 00:14:132 (2,3) - I know you want (3) to blanket 00:13:098 (1), but the spacing here becomes inconsistent. It's possbile to make the spacing here consistent, you know, so please try that.
  4. 00:15:857 (1,2) - The flow here is... very weird. And the positioning can confuse Easy players very much. Try something like this?
  5. 00:37:926 (1,2,1) - ^
  6. 00:49:995 (2) - You can try moving the middle node to (74,198) so this will blanket 00:48:960 (1). Looks neater!
  7. 01:11:029 (1,3) - The tails of these sliders are overlapping each other. This looks messy while playing, so try to move them out of each other.
  8. 01:12:408 (3,1) - ^

>Normal
  1. 00:05:857 (3,4,5) - The flow here is... awkward, I think. Try to move (5) to the point where it's lower than (4), preferably in line with (3) (92,188). Yeah, you'll need to rearrange the objects here, but it's worth it.
  2. 00:08:960 (3,4,1) - I believe you can still make a better blanket pattern here. It looks a little odd right now.
  3. 00:16:891 (3) - Add a whistle to emphasize the piano note?
  4. 00:35:167 (1) - Move the node on the tail to (100,292) for a smoother flow?
  5. 00:36:546 (3) - Also move the node here to (272,44)?
  6. 00:45:512 (4,5) - Make them look like this for a better flow?
  7. 00:55:857 (3) - Move to (200,140)? It looks a bit too close to 00:54:477 (1), and this will make it look centered if you see this circle as a pattern alongside 00:54:477 (1,2).
  8. 01:03:443 (2,3) - Try to make them curved similarly? It's just odd to see two different curves on two sliders that are facing each other.
  9. 01:13:788 (1,2) - You can also make these sliders to have the same curving so they'll look neater.

>Hard
  1. 00:05:339 (2) - Placing this under 00:04:822 (1)'s tail isn't really a nice choice. It's hard to explain why, but it's just strange to play. Either place this at (88,356) or just on 00:05:512 (3)'s head.
  2. 00:07:581 (1,3) - Try to move (3) somewhere? It touches (1) while playing, which looks kinda weird.
  3. 00:23:443 (5,1) - Again, make them curved similarly for neatness and flow?
  4. 01:00:339 (2,3) - I don't think you need to make them stacked. It doesn't really go along with the song well, IMO.
  5. 01:17:581 (4) - Move it to (264,200) so 01:16:546 (1,2,3,4) will look like this? They just... look more consistent and comfortable to play this way.

Overall, the placement and designing of the map can be improved, but it's still quite decent and techincally rankable at least.

Good luck on the way 8-)

  1. Could you rename the song title to Spica. (TV-size)? The main soundtrack has a dash (hyphen) between TV and Size.
    Here is the source: http://vgmdb.net/album/45215

[Easy]
  1. 00:23:443 (2,1,2,3,4,1,2) - You could try moving 00:23:443 (2) at 152|44 and 00:24:132 (1,2,3,4,1,2) at 312|52. You would have re-adjust the spacing at 00:28:960 (3,1) though. It should look like this:

    312,52,24132,6,0,P|388:88|388:172,1,160,2|0,0:0|0:0,0:0:0:0:
    336,212,25167,1,2,0:0:0:0:
    320,132,25512,2,0,L|144:116,1,160,2|0,0:0|0:0,0:0:0:0:
    80,112,26546,1,0,0:0:0:0:

  2. 00:28:960 (3) - Add a new combo here (and at 00:31:719 (3) ) and remove the combo at 00:30:339 (1) and 00:33:098 (1).
  3. 01:12:408 (3) - Re-adjust this slider like this? o.o

    417,201,72408,2,0,P|342:176|268:200,1,160,2|8,0:0|0:0,0:0:0:0:

[Normal]
  1. 00:21:374 (1) - Try adding a soft-whistle at the start of this slider. It emphasizes the vocal lines well and it is consistent with 00:26:891 (1), which shares the same sound.
  2. 00:26:201 (4) - Try adding a soft-whistle at the end of this slider. It emphasizes the vocals pretty well. owo

[Hard]
  1. I would increase the Overall Difficulty (OD) to 6 to give a fair challenge to players. Plus, this is the hardest difficulty! :P
  2. 00:03:443 (4) - Try adding a soft-whistle at the start of this slider. It emphasizes the piano key well.
