When I enter http://osu.ppy.sh/u/chaotic_i, it successfully finds my username (chaotic_iak). I'm not sure whether this is a feature or a bug. (I do know http://osu.ppy.sh/u/chaotic_iak is a feature to link directly to the given username, but I didn't expect a prefix of it also works.)

i believe this is a feature, not a bug

also when I type Hanei, It will be redirected to Haneii's Profile so I think it is intended since no people other than that particular username you are searching for is available?

please clear what I said also correct me if I'm wrong

Same thing when using the player search on the website bar. Putting Sulke goes straight to Sulker

Well, when I searched for chaotic_ it gets redirected to Chaotic (while I and quite a lot of other "chaotic" usernames exist), so definitely not only when unique. But yes, basically the server finds the first username where it begins with the same string. I'm not sure that's intended because only chaotic_iak is supposed to link to my user, not including chaotic_i and such.

I can confirm that behavior. The auto match is intended though. Underscores at the end of usernames seem to be ignored. Maybe they are treated like spaces.

Seems reasonable to treat underscores as spaces, nyaa search engine also works this way. It works better when you search for names and such because a lot of people's names have underscores in them. If not treated as spaces then it would be nearly impossible to search for.
