My favorite is Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica! Because I went in blind, and thought it was your typical Magical Girls Anime... Well... its not
The only manga physical I've read was Ultra Maniac by Yoshizumi Wataru. I think I've gone through 2 volumes before I switched schools (this was probably in US 7th grade).
For anime... the only one I remember quite well (which could explain me being a little bit degenerate at times nowadays) is High School DxD. Otherwise, some good ones are Rec!, Shuffle!, Testament of Sister New Devil, Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san, Tsuki ga Kirei, Hibike! Euphonium, Chivalry of a Failed Knight and Aggretsuko.

this might seem like a joke but i swear this is genuinely my favorite anime
my favorite anime is called Straight Title Robot Anime. its a mecha(?) comedy(?) anime about robots trying to learn humor that was completely animated using MMD!!
it seems terrible and it kinda is but i enjoyed every second of it and i cant tell if i think its a 0/10 or a 10/10
