  1. 00:13:921 (3) - I highly recommend lowering volume here, it sounds too sharp currently.
  2. 00:16:989 (1) - How about adding a soft whistle to prevent this from sounding empty and make it less dull?
  3. 00:24:148 - I really think here should be a note, even if you are following the vocals mainly, it's like the main beat of the part was ignored and this feels odd. Delete 1 and start an 1/2 Slider here?
  4. 00:34:375 (1,2) - This one flows really weird because the directions are somewhat cramped, also the jump is too huge for a Hard in my opinion. How about just redesigning this one?
  5. 00:35:739 (3) - Also this one, spacing went kinda crazy here.
  6. 00:42:330 (5) - Such hard jump again ;_; I think those big jumps don't work well to spread them with ENH, if this was Insane I was totally fine with it.
  7. 00:49:602 (2) - Pull the angle more up? Will increase the transition with 3 and make it look less unstructured.
  8. 00:52:330 (6,7,8) - This looks kinda weird to me, would be more cool if they looked correctly spaced like below shown.
  9. 00:56:421 (11) - Change the tail's sample to soft? The harsh sound doesn't fit with the instruments here.
  10. 01:04:148 (1) - Add a finish to the head? Emphasizes the strong background.
  11. 01:06:421 (6) - Such huge jumps for a Hard ;_; I would like it more if you spaced this less out.
  12. 01:13:239 (4) - This one again, and so on and so on.
  13. 01:18:693 (1) - Same as for 01:04:148 (1) - .
  14. 01:25:852 (1) - Add a whistle to catch the high end tone?
  15. Actually a pretty cool difficulty, but as said I think the jumps are far too huge and hard to catch considering this is only a Hard. You could make this one an Insane and map a new, easier Hard. Just consider it.

[Normal]

  1. 00:13:921 (4) - Same comment as on Hard.
  2. 00:24:148 - And again.
  3. 00:42:330 (4) - You could try ctrl + J here to make it flow smoother, I think it works well.
  4. 01:03:012 (1,2,3,4) - I find this pattern rather harsh, 4 circles in a row can be very exhausting to newbies, how about replacing them by 2 1/2 Sliders?
  5. 01:04:148 (1) - Add a finish on the start just as on Hard?
  6. 01:17:557 (1,2,3,4) - Same as for the previous pattern. ~
  7. 01:18:693 (1) - Add a finish to the head as on Hard.
  8. 01:21:421 (5) - I think this circle is better placed directly at 4's end, the pattern flows a bit smoother and the transition to the next note increases.
  9. 01:23:921 (4) - Uh, looks a bit random placed on the playfield, maybe create a blanket with 3?

[Easy]

  1. 00:13:239 (1) - Same comment agaaaain, but I guess you can keep it consistent yourself when you apply something. ~
  2. 00:15:966 (1,2,3) - Create a triangle with them? They don't look too special right now.
  3. 00:16:989 (1) - Again, add a whistle?
  4. 00:50:284 (3) - Would look more pleasant if this was placed with the grid.
  5. 01:14:148 (1) - Make this more curved for the sake of flow? I feel as if you took the curve more up the cursor will feel moved more smoothly.
  6. 01:25:512 (4) - Pull the angle to the right? Down like this looks odd since the curve isn't the same with 3.

Thanks for your effort, Konei. I really appreciate your help from #modreqs.

But to be blunt, I haven't changed a single thing you have mentioned. Many points are suggestions that shift the map into a different direction. I was considering adding up some of the hitsound suggestions, but the spacing is intended to not follow the blanket/symmetry style too much.

As for the difficulties, I think the naming gives quite the bias. The current Hard diff is slightly too hard for a regular (normalized?) Hard and on the other hand too easy for an Insane diff.

  1. 00:02:330 (2) - Since you followed lyrics at this part imo would be better to made this slider as 3/4 slider + note to made it more intuitive to follow - like this:

  2. 00:03:125 (3,4) - I think replacing this 2 notes with short 1/4 slider would be more intuitive to follow since there are kinda hard to predict how rhythm would go at this part.
  3. 00:06:875 (6) - I think it would be better to add whistle here to slider tail instead, and remove it from start of 00:07:557 (7) - that would work better with vocals
  4. 00:08:466 (1) - Whistle to head follow vocals perhaps?
  5. 00:12:330 (8) - Try to follow instruments at this section instead of vocals: you can make more interesting rhythm-pattern at this section - remove this 1/1 slider and replace with 3 1/2 notes, and leave normal sampleset at (10) & (1) - that would fit better with your choosen rhythm imo

  6. 00:15:171 (1) - Perhaps you can delete this note? As i said above, streams what are starting at slidertails are usually very hard to catch, and leaving kind of "triplet" here would made whole section easier to play.
  7. 01:25:852 (1) - Lower volume of spinner end to 5%? It's not like it snapped to the beat at music anyway, and having it audible feels a bit weird here.
[Normal]

*I guess you can up HP Drain by 1 tick since Hard have 6 - HP 4 would work better for the difficulty spread

  1. 00:08:466 (1) - Whistle to head follow vocals perhaps?
  2. 00:12:784 - Add note with normal-sampleset here to have your rhythm-pattern consistent
  3. 00:15:057 - Adding note here would work better and next 3 notes would be easier to catch
  4. 00:16:875 - Also it would be good here too, since you have strong beat with finish covered by spinner, which is feels kinda unnatural while playing - try to add note here and start spinner 1/4 later.
  5. 00:32:102 (1,2) - I think replacement this with short 1/2 slider would be easier to catch for beginners
  6. 01:04:148 (1,2) - This section seems not intuitive to play - try to follow lyrics here directly, something like this:

Very good map. About difficulty spread: i find it here perfectly fine & reasonable - considering that Hard diff here is hardest diff and requires some challenge, Normal diff feels perfectly balanced between challenging Hard & beginner-frendly Easy.

Thx, Kodora. I might consider changing the slider to stack transition on Hard, since some people have pointed this out already, but I really like it this way. Changed HP drain on Normal to 4.

Apart from that I doubt I will follow your suggestions. I think we both just have slightly different structures and patterns in mind for this song.

Also added "ソウルイーターノット" to tags.

00:16:875 (10) - Instead of stacking with 00:16:421 (8) - , making a triangle pattern with this three circles (8,9,10) could be a good idea too. just imo

Leaving a few comments on Hard *-*

00:03:239 (4,5) - Personally I would like to suggest to replace those circles on 1/2 with a slider. (Too much circles on the beginning isn't my favor >.<) Leaving a reference picture here (triangle-liked pattern?)
01:23:921 (4) - I'll recommend to sightly adjust the angle on this slider (around +23 degrees). Getting a better flow on gameplay might not be a bad idea!

As Kodora mentioned, the gap between all difficulties are literally perfect. Besides that, all those placement on patterns are clean enough without unnecessary stacking :)
Personally hope there will be an Insane difficulty for additional with complex rhythm be like accompaniment part of the song!

- Your bg (1229x768) doesn't fit any of the required ratios 16:9, 16:10, 4:3. It's probably easier to just crop it to the classic 1024 x 768

- Add an exclamation point after ソウルイーターノット in tags. I think it'll be nice to keep consistent with the official source

01:07:784 (1,2) - Consider this rhythm: The slider matches the dip in the vocals while the note catches the "ki" on that same note. Could also provide more leniency in transition for beginners imo

Normal
00:36:875 (2) - try deleting a repeat and adding on a 1/2 slider instead: (ignore note placement lol) The percussion where the 1/2 sliders starts at sounded pretty interesting to follow imo. If you apply, i'd also suggest a drum whistle on the head of it.

Hard
00:52:330 (6,7,8) - perhaps adjust this stack so its distance between (5) & (9) are equal. Forms that triangle
01:07:330 (1) - consider adding a note here. Could be a nice lead-in to the next stanza and lessen the hesitation created by the gap here

Fixed the exclamation point in the tags to the japanese version, also made the dark combo color slightly brighter.
