I'm not the type of guy that goes into forums and stuff. but honestly, as a mapper, I have the want to be good at all skillset, that includes LN, SV, RC, HB, and so on. While I'm mostly decent at actually doing decent at most dense maps on most skillset, the only one I'm really lacking on is LN. the thing is, I can consistently read them correctly, and still be able to full combo.

however my LN release is really what holding me back to actually do crazy scores on LN. My releases are always late, and I already tried percy skins and it doesn't work well (made me release too early). i pretty much ran out solutions I can think of.

please enlighten me.

The only "method" that helped me was playing on ScoreV2 and easy LN release maps, which would generally be at 3*. There would be a bit of a tech aspect to it as well, to ensure tough timings out of the blue.
ScoreV2 only helped evaluate my releases better.

oh yeah, inverse could be an option as well, although that's focused on control.

i can do fine on easy ln release maps, however I fall off a lot on harder ln release maps, I'm not sure how do I improve my release better either

note that I'm mostly playing 2-3* tourney LN maps, with V2HR. i can sorta do them well, its just that beyond 3* I fall off a lot in terms of accuracy

LN, in my experience, is developed seperately on rice so keep that in mind and start playing LN alot

When I wanted to improve my LN, I went back to some easier LN maps roughly 2*-3*. Kept it relatively easy so I could focus on the proper execution and timing for the LN's. And also to find a somewhat decent technique for LN's. I guess you could call it time spent on exploration and experimentation.

With some practice you find what works and what doesn't work, then build it up from there.

I remember hearing percy aint great for learning how to LN, something bout the tail end being cut off. Dont remember clearly.

percy ln will make getting good acc(as in good ratio on an SS) on release files a sisyphus task honestly, the trick is to not play too much easy or hard stuff there needs to be a balance, playing hard stuff will help you familiarise with more notes and playing easier stuff lets you focus on timing it well

for good ln files to practice on in 4k i highly recommend checking out tourney mappools they tend to have some of the best ln files imo

ok i came back from school and i have a single piece of advice for ln

when i started 6k i kept an eye on LN to make sure its not TOO bad (its bad but its not that bad) and it sorta made my 4k ln better so, if you are desperate to fix ln and/or wanna learn a key count, learn 7k and keep ln in mind (reason i did 6k was because i was improving for fun and 6k imo is the best fucking key count ever its AMAZING)

hm, maybe I'm a bit too rushy over my LN improvement. maybe I should try playing uncomfortable LNs map so I get used with weird LN release so good LN releases feel better to do later on.

i also have played maps that are exclusively people that are known to make good files (such as anatharax for LNs). But someone recommended me to play uncomfortable LN maps such as underjoy's LN maps.
