i generally am inclined to believe i misunderstand people here a lot. it's not like i'm not reactive or kinda ridiculously goofy with the effort or seriousness i take some things with, but i would imagine this is normalized to some people now, and i would be willing to believe people will engage with me reasonably if they want/care to as long as i'm not coercing someone into that or insulting them or making a ridiculously contentious statement or whatever

idk what exactly is happening in full detail but there may be something you can do to be more aware of when someone reacts in some way without necessarily minimizing that reaction they have-- there's generally at least some substance, sometimes inclusive of it being that they genuinely do just want to troll you, but in some cases that trolling can come from other things as well that put you in someone's sights or w/e, even if they may not necessarily care that much

something like that? i don't really know, i would think i'm guessing blindly but i do hope that maybe it seems reflective of something, or at least plausible enough to pause and find something you might not have noticed before that isn't a uniform impression of "people are ridiculously callous and cynical and maybe even malicious" when i think most times people are chilling, half of that time maybe they're chilling even when they're in conflict with someone

probably a misdelivery of tone especially being understandable read from after the comment on you-- the remorse could've been sincere, but of course there are general patterns we see in how people use similar phrases that have historically been dismissive and condescendingly performative... it's hard to tell whether someone is actually sorry and being sincerely solemnly reflective about what ingredients they may have contributed to the discussion, maybe also because that person may not even know if/how they might fail to be sincere, especially when relying on the basis of their familiarity with things they think should be normal or precedented about how some jokes are lighthearted and that the jokes they made just happened to be included, and that this justifies something or means that a reaction was disproportionate

really it's not just manishh imo, we can readily point to anyone in the thread that's been relatively interpretable as cold or incisive even if unserious as being part of what contributes to how others respond to them, if not being itself inflammatory-- but being inflammatory must be fun i'd presume? or what reads as fun to someone just happens to be historically inflammatory according to someone else, but within their in-group circles it would be entirely fine! idk what the picture is yet

but because manishh is already being perceived and responded to as a focal point of contention, it's hard to really identify a way to navigate that "ah but most of us had a hand in this going wrong" angle when that can at least appear to be kinda goofy too and when that can be read as a moralistic deflection of sorts in an appeal to idealized civility

in any case idk how to comment on manishh being interpretable as being hurt after possibly being performative/dismissive about you appearing hurt. if true, definitely an inconsistency, but that can easily be side-stepped with more insistence on performatively seeming indestructible and impenetrable with something like "i wasn't bothered at all"-- which could be true but is very difficult to realistically parse from the many people who say this just be annoyingly inflexible and win arguments

it's not like we need apology videos, although some sincerity and willingness to pause may be neat depending on what conditions continue to be like from here

I get misunderstand a lot of time due to my lack of english but I wanna make it clear that I have no hate or grudges against anyone here. idrk what tad and gsg are on about, in light of me completely lacking whatever continuity of context there is for people dogging on you + me not understanding their personalities or whatever foundation exists to insult (and/or joke? idrk) after something interpretable/plausible as being sincere and contemplative

off-topic can include seriousness/sincerity but you'll have to find where that is and who that comes from at which times. i can't really recommend people since i've got no idea if everyone's opinions of you are uniformly critical

i think there definitely are grudges, but i dont really understand who is serious or not, or whether being serious even matters in the contexts of the apparent effect of what people say

i've got nothing more to add really, imo you're ok when you're like this (respective to whatever it is i seem to find reassuring, whether that is reasonable though, i wouldnt know), if nothing else
