keremal and abraker did, and a few others at the time (i remember being a small bystander in the midst of it and probably played along), it's just rather anachronistic at the momentWinnyace wrote:

I'm not sure and I don't know. All I know is that I don't care about this RP and I find it annoying for the simple reason that I haven't fit in it.Achromalia wrote:

or maybe it's not, it is only as anachronistic as people leave it to be, abraker is offering up one thing (or probably was making an in-group reference to a time that seemed fun) and if nobody takes it then we inevitably move on to the next
this is a better-distilled statement, it makes sense... i won't argue with having an opinion, but i do hope it'll be channelled into something else, like forming the kind of thread you would like to see. not that we could expect it to reliably be treated any better than most other threads, but it's some kind of useful and transformative outlet at leastWinnyace wrote:

I have done it multiple times. It went, I think, pretty well. I don't know. Maybe I can try again.Achromalia wrote:

You not caring about it and not fitting in doesn’t mean others don’t care, and it’s pretty rude to say otherwise. Not that you actually care for being rude, since all you do is be an asshole most of the time.Winnyace wrote:

RP is what got people like Scyla, Remi, me, Stomiks, Abraker, Kere, Manishh and many more able to meet each other and even become somewhat friends. it’s a pillar of this sub forum and has been one for the longest time. Don’t shit on the founding fathers, even if you disliked their mandate.
Also have fun. Don’t take things so seriously.
mmyeah;; this is a pretty strikingly compelling point, i didn't fully realize how much people were able to find community specifically through roleplay-- i mean it was intuitive enough to assume but i just never personally engaged in discord servers or anything like that to the extent that i knew people personally, so i never saw those connections truly form. it always was something facing the public, and i never really liked being isolated into private discord servers anywayPolyspora wrote:

to preface this... often times, it's an entangled mess of characteristics and mannerisms rather than an isolated action or trait, and it'll tend to be susceptible to interpretation from the viewer's experience and familiarization and awareness/proximity to the subcultural environment of a subjectWinnyace wrote:

Hmm... I see. I appreciate the post you've made. I think I understood what you've said here and I will see about fixing it, though, I'm honestly not even sure how I could go about doing that. Either way, thank you for taking your time for this post.Achromalia wrote:

but in my mind you tend to appear generally apathetic or inconsiderate of any collaborative social intention people might have, even a bit hostile if it does not seem to cause anything disagreeable to anyone but yourself. you've also seemed to have a habit of getting into minor trouble with people for disagreements where no charity-of-perspective is afforded (for example, "i imagine it's possible you've learned to adapt to stress and challenge by attempting to confront it with hard reason, and you've described some reactive sensitivities which i think are possible justifications for holding onto the need to be and appear factual... but it always seemed to me that this approach simply won't be universally applicable, not at the exclusion of gentleness and levity, and i just don't think this Rational And Factual bit is necessarily the only thing you can aim for")
most of the time, it just seems like you're largely uninterested/cold (not extremely so, but just enough where any critique you make tends to chill the room for a moment, so-to-speak, until people move past it), when instead you've pointed to a more moderately reactive and sentimental disposition that i imagine you save for specific personal interests that don't face the public-- and at rare moments, you'll point to something as being cute or make a comment about something you wish would happen for you to the effect of what i'd consider a longing for comfort
in text, manneristically, it's also in your techinique and style of speech
+ "proper" capitalization and punctuation which often does not necessarily describe rationale or correctness but can sometimes instead create an impression of a stiff/rigid/callous person usually if joined by other traits
+ typically short and sometimes curt phrasing, and limited explorative evaluation unless explicitly asked. i imagine this is pretty normal, but it happens to conflict with the informal mood, which you join in on through tone and subject, but the form/technique of it is still carrying that impression of stiff callousness. and in the singular personal conversation i've shared with you, though i can believe it is partly a matter of english being a secondary language, you just seem to... never really be curious about examining any premises that exist beyond your range of opinion and interest, especially when you already have a conclusion settled for yourself
+ quick to critique on occasion, depending on circumstance. though many people here are like this, i think most are simultaneously doing so while being moderately playful and sloppy. you seem to release a critique nearly on impulse (given how this conversation started, in that you would describe and project your experience as if you were speaking for others), but it could even be possible that it isn't on impulse and that instead those are just the moments you chose to post something about a subject, implying that you're critiquing everything even more than it would've appeared
...though i genuinely don't really know exactly what it is that definitively creates these impressions of you. you just tend to appear like a moderately isolated affection-starved person with opinions, and you probably handle it in ways that make it so that you just appear callous and severe, sabotaging your socialization with whichever people happen to pick up on or be sensitive to that. it's not that everyone must be befriended, and i don't assume you wouldn't be fine with just being selective about which people you actually care to befriend, but...
you worry about fitting in (many others did too, like sametdze and myself and patatitta, maybe more) while separating yourself of your own accord,,, and it's not as though people needed to share the same interests either-- i'm not a particularly media-literate person so i can't readily engage with many topics around most media with any depth (usually ruling out the patatitta review thread + anime and waifu threads + anime meme threads). i think you just,, happen to implcitly and explicitly draw a lot of lines. you're somewhat like patatitta in judging whether to accept/qualify something for review, but instead it's generalized and extrapolated to how you appear to some people at almost every corner of off-topic
...but again, you make strikingly vulnerable or charitable or salient comments at other times in surveys or in general discussions or in conversations that merit it. additionally, you believe you're not funny but... sametdze absolutely loves you and eats the sardonic blunt-to-a-fault vibe up, you seem to know how to be quippy and clap someone in the head with it, and sometimes even i believe you're fairly aware and funny in particular corrections you made in reply to someone. i always thought it was because you were already well-established here until i heard that you never saw yourself this way
...im losing track of myself, i might leave it at that, but... i'd be happy to elaborate more if you have questions or are curious about possible contexts/connections/implications, or why for example i might believe one thing or another about you
