maybe more precisely, it's not really all that decides how people value a company, and an attempt to cater/pander will minimally affect most people's impressions of other things like labor practices or something environmental or otherwise political... though sometimes the heuristic decisionmaking people operate with would probably draw someone to something that signifies something culturally agreeable with/to them and that would simply be all that's needed without anyone looking any furtherDementedduck wrote:

after all they dont need to, they sell products, they're not a social movement of any sort. if it helps to sell they'll affiliate with the devil himself, while making you believe the devil is the embodiment of christ.

Although I would love to read something serious about this topic, if you could link.
ok, from what I'm reading they were accused of spreading misinformation about their product being a substitute to mother's milk? well, I dont know if their formula contains anything that are aggressive towards a newborn human, but changing mother's milk for formula is something many do, be it because not enough time to feed the baby, the mother didnt produce enough milk or the baby is allergic to her milk (and would die if not fed the formula lol).Karmine wrote:

It makes as much sense as tobacco companies. Just because a product is deadly to those using it (or others) doesn't mean people will stop using it.

though i suppose it doesn't stop people from commenting anyway, and political subjects tend to implicitly exist as secondary vehicles for socialization while the primary purpose can be anything from "commisseration" or "solidarity" down through "informative" and onto "levity" or "mockery" or something
...well, no that's not quite accurate, it only would describe one possible frame of it and it's not necessarily seen or considered like that for that many people. sometimes it's just really personal. and sometimes people like to share personal things when it seems real/authentic, or something. there are other explanations, but...
...mmn, it doesn't change that in practice, the true political playground is often a disastrously despairing display and it is hard to hold onto the various little positive crumbs we can find from it
something like that, maybe? idk
