I don´t really think a danmaku fits in a rhythm game like osu!, it seems really weird to me.
there was a video depicting a possible idea for touhosu!, the bullet waves were very accurate, so I guess it could be something like that

the idea works but ranking it complicates the whole thing even more especially when you have 30k+ beatmaps out there
the guys who started this post wasn't even sure if peppy would take this seriously in the first place but it is definitely coming to osu! and the number of supporters (stars) keep increasing everyday
