CLOSED FOR NOW. My external hard drive crashed and I'm rebuilding my life right now.
But please read the first post. I feel all these rules are absolutely necessary because basically every single map I played that broke them was horrible.
I decided to start up a modding queue. I'll be focusing more on making good easy maps, but I will mod your entire map.
If I mod one of your maps, please mod one of mine.
I only give stars to completed maps
I'll only give stars to maps I feel are ready for BATs
For some help, here are some general guidelines.
1. Don't go too slow. This makes the map boring and sometimes makes it harder to read if there are very large spaces between notes. If you must, fill the space with a slider.
2. Leave gaps after spinners. I'd say give it a measure to be safe or only put spinners before breaks.
3. After large gaps, the first note needs to be on a strong beat.
-This is usually beat one or three if your song is in four. If your song is in three, it's almost always one. In six, it will usually be one or four.
4. Rhythm changes and syncopation need to be prepped.
- There are two ways you can prep a rhythm change.
-- The first is to put a note immediately before the change. For example, if you are going from 1 and 3 beats to 2 and 4 beats, put a note at beat 1 right before the first beat 2. If you are going into upbeats, put a note on the downbeat before the first upbeat, etc.
--The other way is to use a slider to set it up. Have the slider start in the old time and end in the new.
- Syncopation is encouraged because often a lack of syncopation makes a map boring, but it needs to make sense and it needs to be easy to read.
5. Don't use stacks that change rhythm.
- In hard and insane, it's okay, but in easy I'd suggest having stacks correspond to a very specific spacing and not deviating from that. It's all in favor of making the map easier to read.
