I have had issues with this map while updating it in the past but now I can't even open it in osu.
When I download it and open it in osu a popup appears at the bottom right corner that says this beatmap's file is corrupt or incomplete. This beatmap is very important for me so I hope I can recover it, anyone have any clue on how to fix this?

it seems the .osz is just corrupted in general. here's a fixed .osz where i unscrewed it by extracting it with 7-zip and re-exported it with osu.

to avoid things like this from happening again, try to keep Unicode characters out of your filenames, as .zips (and by extension .osz) can't handle Unicode.

From the original download, the highlighted letter is the problem

Since the first two audio files are not used I suggest to remove them completely, which can be done with winrar or 7zip for example.
Went ahead and did just that: http://puu.sh/K17SK/241859ea17.osz

How did this solve the problem? It still uses non-alphanumeric unicode!

Thank you to both of you, I must have forgotten to remove the unused files when I last updated the beatmap. I want to revive this beatmap from graveyard with the unused removed but is that still possible? Since the link I downloaded the beatmap with isn't the original one.

The link one gets the map from does not determine ownership, the code inside the map(map/Set ID) does.
The map is still the same, it still uses the original notes and it got the correct Set/Map ID assigned to it in it's code, so the client will recognize it as your map and you can update it normally like any other map.

All I did to help you here is to remove the unused files, like it would be done normally via the folder view.
