General

I enjoyed playing this map and I really like this song ^.^
but I didn't really like that spacing in your map. Also, there are some boring parts, just as the beginning, which has too high spacing in my opinion.


Insane

For general I recommend to turn down the spacing in the beginning.

-Add a note here 00:01:945 (1) - and let the spinner begin here 00:02:320 (1) - u can try to mute the spinner hitsound at the end if you want, it doesn't fit there.

-00:07:945 (1) - here, try to start with a lower distance spacing and increase it here 00:15:257 (1) - a distance snap of 1.2x seems to be fine for the beginning

*Since I can only test play this map this weekend (I'm using a laptop without mouse, and I can only use my PC with mouse during weekends), I'll (most likely) do two mods. For this mod, I'll rely purely on eyesight and hearing. This is the reason why I most likely cannot mod insanes, not because I cannot play them.

**I'll try to do second mod next week, assuming I can finish your insane.

[General]
  1. Ranking criteria says maps with less than 6:00 drain time must have an Easy and/or Normal. For this map, I recommend you make a Hard and a Normal.
[Insane]
  1. 00:13:757 (1) - Change to two circles instead. A slider ending in a big downbeat feels out of place imo.
  2. 00:24:445 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - Personally, I don't like the corner turn at the fifth note. Maybe a more horizontal curve for this stream? (Here's what I did http://puu.sh/7s0tM.jpg )
  3. 00:25:195 (1) - Change to slider ending at red tick? (OK, previous mod didn't say add a note on the red tick. Changing note 1 to a slider preferably parallel to slider 2 will maintain map speed and fill the red tick which I feel too silent without a note or something.)
  4. 00:31:101 - I can hear a synth sound (what are they called?) on this blue tick. Either you can move 00:30:632 (2,3,4,5,6) - this stream near slider 7 to allow for a circle at the aforementioned time point or you can change the stream to three kick sliders or you can disregard the drums and do a 4-2 (OOOO_OO) stream to follow the synth sounds instead.)
  5. 00:35:695 (4) - Personally, I want this slider be like slider 5 rotated 180 degrees.
  6. 00:37:945 (9) - NC here instead of 00:38:132 (1) -
  7. 00:45:445 (5) - Move to or somewhere near x:124, y:288 (Trying to make a subtle distance snap for notes 1, 3, and 5, i.e. have them equally spaced or something. Also, this makes the jumps sequence 4-5-slider1 nearly equal in spacing.)
  8. 00:46:195 (3) - Adjust tail to make this and slider 1 head look like it's distance snapped. (Something like this http://puu.sh/7s1GO.jpg )
  9. 01:07:757 (1,2,3) - Something like this? http://puu.sh/7s0VW.jpg (Make the flow of the triple smooth with the slider. The original angular stream looks awkward to me.)

Also, I want to say something. Just because some maps are ranked doesn't mean they are good. Insanes which are all over the place runs the risk of having shit flow imo. A good expert diff mapper can make the map look all over the place and at the same time organized and aesthetically pleasing.

I really play with HD. I mean, I tested your insane 4 times w/ HD before doing so No-mod.

I like how Insane is easy to pass yet fun to play.

  1. HP -1. (OD is good enough, the map still feels easy to 300. My only problem is how it can become a frustrating killer at the deathstream. HP 8 is a killer.)
  2. 00:31:570 (1,2,1) - The way this sequence flows feels awkward. Were I the mapper, I'd do something like this: http://puu.sh/7zqtE.jpg
  3. 00:34:945 (1) - This plays better if placed on a point where the distance from note 6 to this note, and this note to note 2, is equal. OR you can follow the music and make it closer to note 2.
  4. 00:38:695 (3,4,5,6,1) - This jump sequence feels a bit too random. (Sorry I don't have any suggestions for this.)
  5. 01:49:940 (1,2,3) - Something like this feels better: http://puu.sh/7zrT1.jpg (If applied, vertical flip (Ctrl+J) 01:50:877 (5) for a diamond.)

According to the ranking criteria, you need a Hard difficulty for this mapset in order to keep the difficulty spread. Right now the gap between Normal and Insane is HUGE. I wish you could name your Insane to Hard, so there's two difficulties for a song, just like in Cytus, but unfortunately it's not possible here :P Mapping an Easy would be great too, this song isn't too long and having all four difficulties would make this mapset enjoyable for everyone.

Also, is this the best mp3 available? I think you could find something with a better quality.

Nardoxyribonucleic: I saw a lot of Taiko Onis that were harder than your Inner Oni. Consider renaming this difficulty a little bit? :P

[Normal]
Hitsound the chorus up, you lack a lot of good sounds there.

00:01:945 (1) - Use a soft sampleset on this spinner, just like you did on Insane.
00:21:445 (1) - x:196 y:352 for perfect symmetry.
00:40:570 (1) - Use a normal sampleset on the finish?
00:46:945 (6) - New combo here.
00:49:945 (1) - This section is kinda quiet in comparison with the other parts of the map. Use a higher hitsound volume here.
00:52:195 (3,4) - I hate how you covered these two notes under the slider. You should avoid doing this, especially on easier difficulty like this. They might be hard to read for beginners. Solution: just grab them and move above (2).
01:13:945 (1) - Start it on the white tick.
01:16:940 (1) - It might be quite hard to read notes (especially stuff like 01:29:190 (3)­ ) due to the 0.8x distance snap that was used. If you want to use your sliders like that, I'd rather you used a 0.8x slider velocity here (add a green section covering the red timeline) and rearranged this part with a 1.0x distance snap so it's slighly easier to play.
02:03:815 (4,5) - This might be quite overkill for novice players to play.

[Insane]
00:13:382 (5,6,7) - Use a normal sampleset on all of these notes, gives some nice impact to this triplet like that.
00:14:132 (2) - Sampleset normal.
00:16:757 (5,6,7) - Same as before - use a normal sampleset. Apply this to 00:19:757 (4,5,6)­, 00:21:257 (4,5,6)­ and so on as well. There's a lot of triplets like this.
00:49:945 (1) - And again, kinda quiet stuff.
01:09:445 (1) - Sampleset normal.
01:19:190 (7) - This one's kinda too close to the middle in comparison with the other notes (distance snap 0.48x while the others have 0.60x~ish).


That's a nice Insane that you've got there, but you need to build the rest of the mapset around it. The current Normal is kinda harsh to play, you might want to nerf that one quite a bit.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this progresses. Have a star, too. Good luck!

That's a nice Insane that you've got there, but you need to build the rest of the mapset around it. The current Normal is kinda harsh to play, you might want to nerf that one quite a bit.

  6. 01:53:499 (3) - 388, 340 is better because you used 0.7x on 01:53:968 (5,6) - so make distance same will be better and seems natural when playing
  7. 02:04:562 (1) - hmm.. i think this needs NC because slider's speed goes different but maybe it's on your purpose

I'll think about it; but I'm really not sure how collab works ._.
Also, I'm afraid one half is more fun to mod then the other (for me, the first half was more fun to map, but the second was more fun to listen)

no no no ^^ its okay, and it doesnt really need any complicated stuff ,

its just... for collab, u should make priority of having equal role for mappers
and is the map is intend to be played multi player? or not...
if its multi player, then its a bit hard since u must set the combo correctly, each combo color will represent which player should go...

if not for multi player collab play, u can do like this...
divide the mapping from start to around 01:14:000 ,
then the rest 1 minutes is for the other mappers, since u guys are collab.... and this song is exactly create by 2 artist and divide the song part so clear.


and yes ^^ but u can still make it for fun only and skipped some hardcore notes.
on cytus, this song has LOTS of jack , in here i assume it will be a long stream of cluster tht makes it hard to play,

from my bg modding queue:

My mod changed a few things that will require some alteration on your end.

First for your audio:

the audio file you are currently using is taken from the youtube video I assume, since it sounds identical. The bass in the song is a bit muddy as a result of lossy compression, so I scoured the internet for a higher quality version. I found a version on soundcloud that is a good deal clearer (you may need good headphones to tell the difference, but it's definitely clearer). Unfortunately this will change the offset of your map a bit (approximately 2 ticks earlier now while in 1/4 beat snap mode, or offset = 1749 ms i suggest double checking that, though, it was just a quick estimate). Here is the new audio file (right click, save link as)


Now for the bg:

the bg was a bit fuzzy, so again I searched around for a higher quality version (what i found was lower res, but much sharper than the one you were using). The version you had was also a bit stretched upward, it turns out, as the image I found was clearer and showed more image vertically. I worked off of that image and made a clearer bg. I also made a new storyboard image for you to match the new bg. Here are those:
