It's been one year of me playing osu std since December 2022. A lot of progress have been made and continue pushing my limit of what is possible. I started off as complete buffoon until today, setting off scores that I'm proud off for many months to come. This post is just as my reminiscence how I started of my osu std journey.
The Beginning
As a complete moron, I just play whatever music I like. My prior mania experience puts me into unique situation where I can only do alternating. I only play solo without friend, just playing whatever I like. Mostly I played 3 - 4*
Already understanding the importance of consistency, I'm set on the right path toward prioritising accuracy over combo.

My Config:
Full area, no filter, Huion Driver
The Adventure
Now that I able to 99% high 4*, I'm beginning to enter low to mid 5*. Still focusing on NM, This is where I hit some of the roadblocks in my progress. I started to look out for guide, playing multi for the first time and making friends.
Back then, I only limited myself toward low bpm alt. Tech isn't yet on this star range so I have big trouble playing anything over 160bpm and a trivial amount of jump. This is where I meet a certain ex-DT aim one trick, guiding me toward learning raw aim. As a result, I began farming more jumps and seeing my pp and rank skyrocketed.
My config:
Tiny area (45 x 27mm 1.778 ratio), no filter, Huion Driver/OTD

Experimentation
Somewhere around 8 to 6 months ago, someone hit my head and I suddenly got intrested playing EZ. It was hard but I enjoy the process of playing it. At first, 75% acc is normal.
Having more raw power thanks due to jump farm, It's time to learn burst. I was enjoying multi lobby until someone picked this masterpiece. At first I was oblivious to the fact that It was tech map, due to how endurance-demanding this was. So I played and played until one fateful day I FC'ed it. It was one-in-a-million thing happened. I still cherished it to this day.
Aoung 6 months ago, I made my introduction in osu forums! Hey, being social a bit isn't too bad!
Also tweaking my laptop and other configs to have better experience playing osu. I got my head twirling around in confusion on what works and what doesn't, and which only cause issues.
I continue myself playing NM, delving deeper into finger and aim control.
The later part of this era is when I began playing DT, HD, and HR separately.

My config:
Small area (55 x 30mm, 1.778 ratio), Kuube's chatter extermination filter, OTD
Today
I still pushing myself till this day! Now currently focusing on aim control and HR, I wished to breakthrough 99% acc on high 4* - low 5* maps HR.
Now just recently I'm a five digit, I can finally let go the identity of being a beginner in osu, and pursue whatever specialised skillset I want.
