UPDATE 11/30/23:
The official name of this tournament is Ferby's Ambitious, Really-Long Tournament. Aka FART. And I'm glad to announce we're currently in the stage of finding staff! We're looking for mappoolers, referees, and some people to stream the matches.
A quick recap of the tournament: Each round will have an average length longer than the last, with the shortest round being 10 minutes minimum. Qualifiers will only be around 7-8 minutes each however.
Matches will be bo3 until semifinals where it'll increase to bo5, played 2v2, with a team size of 2. It'll be open rank(subject to change) and with Scorev2. Star rating will cap around 6 stars for GF. I'm aiming for qualifiers to start Late-January to Mid-February, with a real forum post sometime in December. The timeline and smaller details are subject to change as staff spots are filled and more input is received.

I dont have the skill nor knowledge to host a tournament, but I had an idea for one while scrolling through maps to play. A tournament where as each stage of the match would have a longer average map length.
For example, qualifiers could average 6 minutes, while grand finals could average 30 minutes. 2v2 team size of 2 (maybe bigger depending on how many people were interested) would make sense so less rounds were required due to the long matches.
Either freemod could be enabled for every map, or each mod gets just a single map, with it being BO3, again to shorted match length as much as possible. Maybe earlier matches could have higher BO since they wont be as long. A map with extra long length would be interesting for each mappool too.
Id like to gauge interest and possibly people who could help set something like this up. Even after reading up on the hosting guide a lot of it seems too complicated for me. I'm still able to help with things like pooling, streaming, and graphic design though.
