currently using a razer viper mini, thinking of getting a gaomon s620, and i have a lot of questions

1. do i save up some more money and buy a ctl 472?
2. if i went with the s620, will i feel the input delay cuz of smoothing? (coming from mouse with basically 0ms delay)
3. will i set a pp record after getting a tablet? or will i just play like a 727 digit with -72727 second playtime
4. will tablet save my wrist from getting carpal tunnel after playing dt for like 2 hours?
5. does absolute positioning actually help? cuz right now im struggling real hard with mouse drift (i have small hands which makes it worse)
6. how long will it take to get to my mouse aiming skill level thing with a tablet?
7. does holding a 5 gram pen feel good?
8. most importantly, will i regret buying a tablet just to click on some circles? (like is mouse good enough?)

more info: rank 130k mouse player that likes playing dt because reading 10.3 and aiming/tapping fast af makes me feel like im mrekk
yall can drop ur mouse to tablet experience if you want idk

Tablet is good

I have sweaty hands so amma stay as a mouse

might try tablet again once I reach 5 digit cuz I wasted like 3.2k for a ctl 4100

Not for me. I'm too shaky with tablet, my aim is terrible.
Mouse is good enough for me. I'm able to set scores I'm happy with and have fun playing still.

It's worth it for a lot of people though, just make sure to go with a Wacom tablet if you decide to get one.

edit: I went from tablet to mouse because tablet was too shaky for me, and set better scores eventually.

another sweaty hands here. bought a tablet and forcing myself in 2016, back to use mouse again in 2017 and became much better. only use for now is to fast spinning which i havent done it in a year or so. but if you arent sweaty hands type then you will become a god.

1. Tablet is mostly preference, but I'll link a pretty good spreadsheet so you can get a general idea of how good certain tablets are: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DYVfiSpQqdpa4sWWYUALPmliOIuGyKog7B7LJJdmlhE/edit#gid=2077726645

2. Refer to the spreadsheet, it says the s620 has minimal hardware smoothing. The 472 does not have any hardware smoothing.

3. It Depends on how well you adjust, but generally the first couple of days or weeks you will not be at the same skill you are on mouse.

4. No, carpal tunnel can happen with a mouse or tablet

5. Mouse drift is the reason I switched to a tablet, I can't play long maps without having my mouse literally almost fall off the edge of my desk and I don't really want to change my mouse technique just for osu.

6. Refer to #3

7. Should normally feel like holding a normal pen or pencil

8. It Depends on how long you play the game I guess or if you draw. Personally, I've been playing tablet for over 5 years at this point and just had to change out my old tablet (CTL-4100) because it was finally starting to mess up. However, mouse is still very good, 3 of the top 10 people use a mouse; ninerik, Chicony, and NyanPotato.

I use Yonex grip tape on my pen to prevent sweat from hindering my ability, started using it around half a year ago and it's actually game-changing (if you sweat a lot). At the end of the day tablet vs mouse is largely just preference as both can be used at the highest level of play.

I'd suggest you to try tablet and if after 1 month you feel like it's not for you, then you can go back to mouse

High friction just means that the tablet will feel like you're moving the pen across a texture similar to paper when you first use it. But yes, if you do drag your pen on the tablet the surface will begin to smoothen out over time and you will get cosmetic scratches on your tablet. You don't need to get a tablet cover, as most scratches are only cosmetic and don't affect the function of the tablet. However, if you want your tablet to look clean and not have scratches you can either choose to hover instead of drag or buy a tablet cover. I have never used a tablet cover, but you can buy one if you so choose to.

1. If you are dedicated to improving, sure.
2. I guess? I think it's not that big of a deal.
3. You will need some time to adjust.
4. I feel like tablet is harder on the hands than mouse.
5. In general, yes it does, but some people still prefer mouse. Obviously they are a minority.
6. Depends on your skill level and isn't entirely predictable even then. I'd estimate it will take like 3 weeks or something.
7. Sure?
8. I didn't regret it.

As a pro tablet player

1. Yes
2. No
3. Yes but it will take time
4. No unfortunately
5. It depends on the person actually
6. If you're already very good with mouse, it won't take several months
7. Yes
8. No if you feel like it was the right choice for you

I absolutely despise tablet I can only play with relax because when I drag it registers as me clicking so I can’t alternate and I can’t play without friction so hovering is out of the matter. I’ve already lost my muscle memory on mouse

You can press F10 to disable mouse buttons while playing so this doesn't happen. Just so you know.
