I used to be your average tv size farmer and jump map enjoyer until i eventually started playing longer and more diverse maps, i lost motivation and stopped playing actively for a while however i've returned with new motivation to expand my skillsets, i've played a little in tournaments here and there and have never had any results i've been happy with due to my lack of skill diversity, (don't get me wrong i don't expect to win tournaments but i hope to be able to rank higher on the seeding). So that's why i'm here, looking for advice and maps to play to expand my skillsets.

Specifically the skillsets i'm most keen on getting good at are:

AR8 HD (reading)
Alt (I've never been good at alternating, i usually singletap)
Tech

So any advice or map recommendations to improve these are appreciated :D

The best way to get good at them is by playing them. Thats the only advice i can give and here is a website you can get maps for whatever you want: https://osucollector.com/

Play, explore, and have fun with them initially!

Alt is generally harder than the star rating would suggest, so step down 0.5* of your current comfortable range

tech is even more harder than the star rating would suggest, you might need whole 1* step down, and do much exploring since not all tech are created the same

Though I don't know how to learn low AR (or god forbid EZ) with relative ease since they're outright not fun, even frustating for the most of players. Maybe play the -1 AR of the beatmap your already master and the music you love.

Here's some:

Alt

Tech
beatmapsets/1933914#osu/3997627
beatmapsets/1285447#osu/2668953 (more like alt tech)

Low AR

I will add that I very rarely play alt maps, but I've been exclusively a full alt player for almost 4 years now and my reading fundamentals are ok so I am naturally able to play them. There is of course no full substitute to just playing a map type you're weak at but if you don't want to always be playing alt maps then just practicing full alt could be better than nothing.

I'll check it all out, thanks for the recommendations

I will add that if you want to practice specific skillsets on maps with it, use osu! matchmaking
Start looking at like mmr 1100 and go up by 100 for specific ranges and avg pools to start appearing

Hope you will turn into 4 digit with this new mindset!
