I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm just curious what yalls take on it is. when did you start to decide for yourself that you're actually good at this game? Were there any certain goals you gave yourself to help you figure out that you aren't trash lmao

That's probably how it is for the majority of players unless you're in the top 5000

the constant cycle of trying to one up yourself is insane

mhm, but it does help in some cases

I think once you can FC around 5 star maps you're at least a respectable player. I think I kind of began to feel like I was relatively good at the game around the time I started getting 400s (so maybe rank 15-20k or so)

But of course there is no objectively correct answer here, I've met people who have claimed that the game really starts at 3 digit (pablohh lol)

I'm still trash at the game, literally nowhere near any of the goals I set for myself years ago.
I'd say you're no longer a beginner when you've got around 200-300 hours playtime, iirc that's about when I started to get the fundamentals mostly down (consistently FCing 1 stars to low 3 stars with good acc). I agree with Naiad, if you can FC 5 stars (not just farm maps though) then you're at least respectable.

I don't think I've thought about it

I guess I was content with my skill level because I could play all the maps I felt like playing. but I probably didn't think about this in such explicit terms

While I still have a lot things I don't know, I consider myself no longer beginner once I began introducing myself to EZ and HR
