AI art as a tool can be helpful. You can use it for conceptualising to help you or a creative team go to a certain direction when you find yourself at a dead end, or if you lack the concept artists to do so. For artists, it can be used as a rough reference to use in a tight pinch. Or yeah, if you're not creatively inclined, or have anyone nearby like so, then it's good for making a quick promotional poster.
But for the most part, as it stands today it's akin to the fast food or fast fashion. A means to pumping out a complete drawing in an instant. I certainly don't like what it is today, and how it achieved it. Sure it's makes some aesthetic stuff every now and then, but to me it just looks... sterile.
It takes the human factor away from art; the crafstmanship, the intricate and subtle expressions, the creative processes, the organic imperfections, etc.. It certainly doesn't delve much into the mind or the personality of the artist either.
It's just typing key words to a prompt, and re-rolling a machine until you find something that satisfies your expectations or suits your needs. I personally have no problems with that approach, but we all know what humans are like.
