Question about switching to tablet

Hi! I want to switch to tablet, (I currently played mouse and keyboard). I've played mouse and keyboard the entire time I've played osu! and feel like I can't get any further with my current setup. My only concern about switching is that I am left handed, so I'd have to learn to tap with my right hand. I tried it out with AP and it feels like it's impossible to get used to.

I guess my question is, anyone that has made this switch, how bad is it and is it difficult to adjust? Is it worth staying with mouse and keyboard and building my game there or is making this switch early on better?

I'm not left handed so I can't speak for that

I started osu (again) immediately on tablet. Because I already got used to drawing on tablet, Gripping isn't a big deal. Though I guess you can always start slow and get used to aiming first, you'll get it eventually

If you're left handed, having a tablet will REALLY help you on osu

I'm ambidextrous and I can say that playing with a mouse, if you're left handed, isn't a pleasant experience since almost all mouses are designed for the right hand

I’ve come across a few lefties but some of them use right when gripping pens, I’d assume it’s not your case though

still, early switch to tablet should help, since you’re probably not entirely unfamiliar with your right you may find it easier to tap with right

but it’s true that you need to think about gameplay as something new, and you will underperform for a long time. eventually you’ll get better though

but remember, hardware is also pretty important in this game, in my case I play like 50% better on good hardware.

so if you are serious about the game, then buying a good mouse or tablet is definitely needed.

You're just not playing consistently enough.
As a rule of thumb I've always been saying that people will see themselves improving when they hit 1000 playcount every month. If you just play a lot and then stop playing for months again, you will simply spend all your time rusting and derusting rather than advancing.
This is not a mouse issue and if it's a mouse issue then because your specific mouse does not track well.

Finally, what makes tablet amazing is mostly its mobility. It lets you skip that first phase in osu! where you're learning to aim bigger jumps swiftly and start playing 4* maps right away...where you are right now you're already past that stage so a tablet won't help you that much.
Mouse has its own merits in that it has a more controlled aim due to the mouse being heavier - which is something you'll have to learn and acquire with hard work on tablet, just like you had to work hard for mobility on mouse.

And they use a tablet, so it proves that tablet is superior
