what does the recommended difficulty in the beatmaps section mean?

is it literally just a recommendation, the difficulty i should be playing at to improve (most?), or what?
mine says 4.16 star

(also i know i just posted something and i really should just combine the two posts but yeah sorry)

basically yeah just shows the SR you supposedly are comfortable with

Btw don't really pay attention to your recommended difficulty, it's not that accurate the more you play the game. Just enjoy game and play the maps that you want!
