Star. Good luck!
Yes whenever i play that song messes me up the most because the timing seems off making the beat "sound" off toobrocoli wrote:
I'm disappointed by osu! not supporting composite measures like 7/8 though. The timing sections look like a mess in the editor at the Hartmann's Youkai Girl part (one of my favorites in the series..), but fortunately the markers themselves seem well timed =)...
That's how I wanted to have it at first, but when you click on the map in the song select, only the preview for the first diff chosen plays. Clicking any other diff doesn't use that preview point, so for the most part it's pretty uselessSapphireGhost wrote:
Question - would it be possible to set the Preview Points of the diffs other than [Marathon] to their respective songs? I know that's usually unrankable but perhaps it would be different because this is a medley?
Anyway, have a STAR for your efforts.

Well, as I promised I'd mod this when it finally went pending, hehe.
[Marathon]
01:36:257 (1,3) - These aren't mirroring each other, and it seems to be what you were going for Fixed
02:00:984 (3) - Add soft whistle to start? Doesnt sound too great to me
02:06:802 (1) - ^ ^
02:25:712 (1) - Finish to start? Done
02:27:166 (1) - ^ Done
02:26:802 (3,1) - Line these up Fixed
02:28:166 (2,3) - Maybe move 1 grid down and left to adjust for the stacking Done (I think I budged the stack while fiddling with it)
02:49:306 (1) - Maybe adjust the points like this to have a smoother middle curve? (though I wasn't digging the overlap between) 02:48:560 (2,1) - )
Smoothed it out. I haven't done what you've done there though since it's a little asymmetrical.
03:10:175 (1) - This whistle on sliderslide intentional? Yeah
03:17:629 (1) - Didn't like the curve on this slider. Yeah, it's kinda awkward. Smoothed a bit
03:19:119 (1) - ^ ^
04:02:212 (1) - Add finish to start? Done
04:39:249 (1) - ^ ^
04:45:268 (1) - I dunno why, but this feels better starting on the red tick to me. *shrug* Agreed
05:09:064 (2,3,4) - Are these where you want them? Keep the stacking in mind. The 2 slider isn't parallel with the 1 slider either, if you were going for that. Stacking can make it look awkward, but I don't think it's too big an issue here.
05:58:797 (1) - End this at 06:01:719 - with no hitsound or a quiet normal-hitnormal (though those have a tendancy to have an annoying pop sound at low volumes). Feels and sounds better. I'll shorten it, but I'll just leave a normal soft sound on there.
06:08:356 (3) - Soft whistle on sliderslide >< Oh dear. Removed.
06:26:638 (1) - Aaah, and if you make is symmetrical it kills the pattern. D: Ohh, the sliderend is misplaced a bit. All fixed
06:31:375 (1) - Maybe soft hit sounds for these parts? Done
06:34:533 (1) - and back to normal sounds here Done
06:37:691 (1) - and soft here Done
07:50:410 (1,1) - This... was kind of eh. The initial part of the slider felt fine, but the return into an immediate spinner felt kind of cheap. Maybe map through the spinner? Gah, but you use it later and it feels better. Maybe it's more that you used a strong-curved slider the second time? The long tilde slider maybe didn't transition into a spinner well for me. I dunno, I'm just rambling now. Hmm. I see what you mean there. I'll leave it for now since it's late when I'm checking this, but I might do something about it.
07:56:263 (1,4) - Line these up just a tiiiny bit more. Done
08:09:217 (2,1) - Adjust down and right for the stack Done
08:19:157 (4,5,1) - Not lined up very well Fixed
08:25:302 (1,1) - You've got the feel for the trumpets, but the hit sound you chose makes it feel so incredibly off when you have the cymbal crash a beat later in the music. This ended up sounding the best while preserving some of the trumpet lead, though I dunno if you really want to do it, hehe. I'm not keen on the way you've set it up there, but I see what you mean about the cymbal crashes being awkward. I've changed it so the cymbal crashes land on the trumpets. Sounds somewhat better I think.
09:05:684 (1) - During this part, there were a lot of missed opportunities for some good soft finish placement. I see what you mean, but I think it works alright how it is.
09:22:826 (1) - Hrm, maybe end with a clap instead of the double finish that's going on? Yeah. Done
11:19:764 (3,3) - These might have a better effect if you did sliders like this (only not as lazily done ):
Agreed. Remade those.
12:36:747 (2,1) - Didn't like this overlap much Fixed

And for the next section:
04:45:360 (1) - I think you forgot to resnap the end of this when you moved it, hehe Oh derp. Fixed
05:13:138 - Maybe extend the break start to 05:13:323 - ? Well, haven't extended the break, but put a beat there which has done the job anyway.
11:43:810 (3) - Not quite stacked correctly Fixed
14:30:094 (1) - End this at 14:31:025 - I see what you mean, but nope
14:34:379 (1) - End this at 14:36:988 - ^
14:45:932 (1,3) - Not stacked quite right Doesn't impact me much either way, but done
15:21:709 (1) - Maybe add a soft finish? Sounds good, done
16:19:255 (2,3,4) - Maybe readjust due to overlap from stacking? Done
19:13:468 (1) - Eeh. It looks kind of misaligned if it's not right with the slider track, but then it's just being covered completely. Kind of iffy with this pattern. I've done a little rearranging here. Should be just fine now.
19:18:700 (4) - End with a finish? Nope
19:41:375 - Was this break intentional? Feels fairly long and soon after the previous break. The music is fairly subdued, but I think it's mappable. Yeah, it's a very long break, but I don't think it is worth mapping that part personally. I quite like how the break works
20:08:153 (1) - Felt like a really weird spot for a new combo. Cleared that up a bit
20:36:024 (7) - Hrm, maybe add a whistle here, remove whistle from the end of 20:36:218 (1) - and add whistle at 20:37:379 (2) - ? That works. Done
20:47:831 (6) - Add whistle on end Oh dear. Fixed
22:00:480 (4) - Not stacked properly Not sure how that happened.
22:17:563 (1) - Add whistle to go with snares? mmm, okay
23:38:202 (3) - Remove finish on the end Done
23:44:435 (3) - That finish intentional? Nope. Fixed
24:32:747 (1) - Remove finish. Sounds weird. :/ 'Kay
24:28:072 (1,1) - Not symmetrical (easy to tell with the slider ticks)God those things are a paindone
It's a question of which rule to break.Garven wrote:
