[Archived] Can't click with my keyboard anymore (Z and X keys)

Problem Details:
I've played osu! using my mouse to position the cursor and the keyboard buttons A and S to click.
But today not a single button on my keyboard can be used to click.
I checked the key bindings and it is still A and S. I also changed it back to Z and X, but it will just change the song that is played on the home menu.

I don't have a video or screenshot that can clearly show this problem.

Try rebinding it a few more times, and to different pairs. Restart your computer. If it still doesn't work you might have to re-install.

Catch The Beat, where I also have changed the key bindings for, doesn't work either.
Osu!Mania and Taiko still work but I never play those.
I reset all bindings too, it doesn't work.

I will re-install it. Does that make me lose any data, like my beatmaps?

I'm not sure, but you should back them up anyway. Also, you could try deleting osu!.Uesseru-Kun.cfg and restarting the game (you will be asked to log in)

Well, just do a backup of the songs folder :)

I successfully made a back-up of the maps and reinstalled osu!.
But it STILL won't work, not a single button does!

Only the buttons bind to CTB and left/right click won't work. All others do.

Please use the edit feature next time :)

And, this is really stange... try pressing the keys in osu! chat just to see if there works....

Set your keys to the default binds and check for any duplicate binds.
Also, are you running a macro program in the background? (Far-fetched, but could be the reason)

The keys still work in the chat.
And I basicly tried every key on my keyboard. I also tried the basic settings.
I don't have any other programs running than osu!.
I also scanned for virusses and cleaned up my PC.
I also re-installed.
I have always used A and S to click, I never had any duplicate bind issues.

Same issue here

F & D for me, tried rebinding them... can bind to arrows or something, but if I hit A-Z, nothing

Don't bump ancient threads in the Resolved Issues sub-forum. Make a new thread detailing your issue instead. Also, no need to double post, you can edit your first one.

It is really easy to fix just close every thing but osu and play, you may need to reopen osu. The issues and other program such as youtube is using the keys Z & X so osu does not work using those keys. That is how I fix it, hope it helped :)

I use a tablet and i had this problem but when i pressed F10 and disabled the mouse buttons it fixed the problem
