How do you guys play osu! as a beginner?

When I first started the game I used my laptop to aim and click by alternating the zx keys. It wasn't until a month later I got a wireless usb mouse for $15 but I still used zx keys and man I would fail and retry 100's of times on three stars and some hard and insane diffs. I mashed the retry button so much that I reached 6000 plays in a single month which is the highest I've ever gotten and to this day more than 90% of my most played maps are the 3-4* maps I retry spammed when I was new and I regret it because it didn't make me better at the game. I have a new mouse and still have never tried playing with mouse only but if it's better for you than why not. Also, if you find yourself failing after playing the map 37+ times just play something else, you'll fc it later first try trust just don't retry spam man it's usually not worth it

but actually, you need to start slow and work you way up, download maps you like and spam them, play with hidden because its better to focus on the rhythm then the circle timing (it will put you off later on)

I do single tap, then mouse button, then alt, then play with touchpad because my friend showed me and it looks cool

I started with td+keyboard double tap on my phone in lazer (which arguably might be one of the most unique playstyle a beginner might think of lol), then played with touchpad singletap, and eventually mouse full alt on zx
mouse only for like an hour, then I figured out keyboard also works, so started what I later learned was called full alt. Much later I got a tablet.
I just didn't know the combo scores and only noticed that mods could get more score,so I got very less pp.
I love retry for 100 times or 200 times

I use budget setup and low GB ram to play osu lol
