Watch Devilman: Crybaby NOW!!!!

The anime is a 10/10 certified banger

Shoujo Kakumei Utena has been called several times "The Evangelion of Shoujo" as both are anime that feature similar levels of mindscrew. It starts light-hearted and even generic in the first 13 eps but from then it slowly descends into madness.

depends a lot of what part of evangelion you enjoyed, the first half of the original series, the ending of the original series, or the rebuild movies, all of those three have a very different style, mainly the ending of the original series and the rest of the original series are the most different

I would say watch Gurren Lagann, it is kinda the inverse of EVA imo (from what I have seen from the hundreds of essays on EVA

Maybe watch Serial Experiments Lain, apparently it's dark idk I haven't watched it but it gives me same vibes as Evagelion.

LET'S ALL LOVE LAIN.... Ahem. They're similar in the sense of atmosphere and the fact you barely understand anything. But imo the closest thing to Lain would be Haibane Renmei or Boogiepop Phantom rather than Evangelion.
