so i was reading a kids book on japan (context is trivial) and i saw this image labelled as anime

naturally, i wanted to know where it came from, so i did a google search and

it’s not even an anime, it’s literally a game

Anime is a medium. It can still be expressed through other means besides TV shows or movies.

If you're talking about the art style (as broad as it is), sure. Anime itself is more of its own thing, though. I'm not gonna call something like Genshin "anime", because it's an entirely different form of entertainment.
