Can anyone tell me about the different types of tapping and when it should be used? For examples in videos ive seen people tap with one finger only and only do the xz combo for triples doubles and streams and some people tap with their fingers curled in while others have their fingers extending . What do you do and have you noticed yourself better by changing the way you tap?

This is what I do:
Single-tapping most slow beats then only alternate when needed. Only works when you do remember the song.

Anyways, single tapping is more popular because it allows you to play rhythmically.
Implying you can't play rhythmically with other tapping?
I just play with my fingers curled and i make sure my wrist doesn't touch my desk. helps for single tapping.
