Hey there osu! community!

So I'll get straight to the point, my mother HATES osu!, not because of the game being addictive or some stuff, but because of the keyboard sounds.

As you may know, mechanical keyboards tend to be really noisy and as a consequence even if I closed my doors and windows on my bedroom, he Will still (somehow) hear it 0_0

So here is the thing, do you know any keyboard that are:
1. Mechanical, or at least highly resistant.
2. Silent or considerably more silent than my actual Keyboard (Cooler Máster CK530)
3. Good input response time, because I play osu!mania and delay really sucks.

I'll be looking forward to any economic or reliable options, if you can link any store to see the model I'd appreciate It a lot :

EDIT: Just for the note, I don't know $#!T about keyboards, so if you can explain it more simpler it can help a ton!

What switches does your current keyboard have, if you know?
(If you don't know, you can probably check by pulling out a key. The stem on the switch would either be coloured red, brown or blue in your keyboard's case.)

If they're linear or tactile (i.e. you have the model with red or brown switches), and it still irritates your mother, then finding an alternative might be difficult; you'd already be on the silent side of switches at that point. You can definitely get something quieter, but it requires a lot of research and falling into the wonderful and expensive rabbit hole that is custom keyboards!

A keyboard is just part of the battle, however. Your desk (and to some extent your whole room) can also play a part in your kb being loud. Having a solid and sturdy surface helps to absorb some sounds.
Placing something soft underneath your keyboard like a relatively thick cloth mouspad can also help prevent the impact and sound of you hitting your keys from transferring to your whole desk. (but to what degree you'll have to find out yourself)

There's also the modding aspect, but I don't really recommend it if you're not comfortable with opening electronics up. It's also usually not worth it on a prebuilt keyboard from mainstream brands like Cooler Master, Logitech, Corsair, etc.

Summary:
  1. I've just checked and they seem red, so bad news I guess :(
  2. Well I think I am screwed on the desk scenario, the only thing that is holding the whole setup would be a slightly thick wood plank well organized, so probably it generates more sound than other "normal" desks.
  3. I'll definitely check out the mousepad alternative to see whether it can compensate the noise, no guarantees about it though.
  4. I'll probably have to check out the modding anyway since it seems to offer a reasonably quieter sound than other normal prebuilt keyboards. Thanks for the video there by the way, I'll see if I can build one myself in the future just for the sake of experimenting :)
If there is anything else I have missed, you can reply with anything. Or if you can recommend any keyboard model that offers a tiny less sound than my cooler master, thanks for the help.

Everything that's mechanical and not membrane (I have too many membranes and I don't use them holy cow)

I can't really comment on board recommendations since I don't know what the markets are like in your location.

The mentioned Keychron V1 is a decent option though if you can get it, and it being hot-swap means you can change out the switches to something quieter down the line.

You could probably get something cheaper, but again requires modding like sound dampening the inside to get it silent. (But idk, I haven't really taken a proper look of budget options so I'm not the best for recommending value keyboards)

As for switches, there are hundreds out there that cater to many preferences. If you want silent switches, a few suggestions are Gateron Ink Black V2 and the Kailh Fried Egg V2.

I've heard of I think there called o-rings you can put on your keys and it will make it quieter. You can also try to lube (I know the wooting store sells some) your keyboard.
