Trust me, there's people in worse situations who seem to manage through.
Just adapt to what you can at the moment. You're in Middle School, which shouldn't be very stressful at all. So don't negatively take what you have and enjoy the free time, since I'm sure you have more of that than others.

If it's hard you take it head on and make it easy. That's what I do.
if the horse doesn't comply then you eat it and see if the other horses learn from that example
