What was it like if your parents are drunk?

Personally mine one just sucks ass in every single way possible. >:(
My stepdad will get 10x dumber and gets always even angrier than before. Will akways complain about the stupidest things imaginable. Always threatens us by the pissed off looks of his deep and ugly face. He always says "Heeeeeey!!!" as if he's a Gyarados.
And especially my mom.
Today: She drank probably one huge or maybe even two huge glasses of beer. She walked like a doofus at times always about to fall off like a maniac. Then as we got home she said "Oh wow nice hair!".
Then she said she would kill herself and that she's a loser. I tried to calm her down, but it just wouldn't work, because god it just wouldn't work idk why, so I always had to get angry and pissed off to make it work. Then she says "F*ck u" to me and then I got super pissed off, screamed at her
and then after thus that and then and when, right when I have done the hotdogs, because she was so drunk that I just did that all to myself instead, I tossed a spoon away to her face and shut the doors heavily. Then she says that it was a """joke""" all along. And now she's speaking herself bickering about everything. And now mighe be thankfully sleeping, but I guess I'll never know. -_- [ nvm she isn't sleeping rn >:( ]

If alcohol would be illegal, then I would have loved my mom MUCH more... :(

man, i can see that you really have a tough time with your parents. that's saddening that your parents drink too much alcohol. i also have similar parents like you but the difference is that they don't drink alcohol and mostly fight on useless stuff. like one time they've talked bout medicine and so on and progressively got a fight for some reason. well parents do drink for a reason but i wish that your parents should stop drinking cuz that's just sad. i also can imagine your situation. i hope you and your parents get well.

I have a friend who has trouble with their drunken parents. And from what I've heard, it sucks really bad.

Alcohol is VERY BAD.

Why? Your mother is beating you. Child abuse is illegal in the US. There is more benefit to getting your mother arrested for her crimes than letting her continue to beat you.

My parent also drink quite heavily, they both drink frequently but they both have a extremely high tolerance for alcohol (especially my mom). I had one bad experience with my drunk dad and he didn't even touch me, he just drank so much beer during one sitting that just feel face down on the floor and was barely able to move. I have zero bad experience with my mom tho.

its a cultural thing and it depends on the family to be honest, a beating is not made to harm but to punish. your hand is supposed to be pulsating after the beating, not bleeding. its a quicker way of teaching some lessons and the result will be the same as a kid who never got beaten.

of course I wish for a world where this thing ceases to exist, but we arent there yet and its necessary to understand that this beating that he's talking about is different from the child abuse one.

I don't believe that any degree of physical punishment is an effective way to make to make your kid learn a lesson. You will fucking mess up your kid. Children are in the primes stages of development and if you made even a small negative impact on them, it will have great effects. I've seen far too many I know that have issues that stem from small amounts of punishment.

As someone who was often beaten as a kid, I slowly developed low self-confidence and have a hard time taking to people about the simplest things. I am getting better as I try to overcome my problems but they never should've occured if it weren't from getting beaten from when I was a kid.

I remember back in elementary school that i wanted to be friends with everybody then this kid said that that we werent friends and wouldnt ever be, that stuck with me for my entire school career and i never asked anyone to be my friend since, i pretty much have a fear of asking people in general so i dont ever try to start something because i know it can possibly go bad somehow.

i know it wasnt as bad as what you went through but small things really can change people, also im sorry that happened to you.

We get a gift of somewhat expensive alcohol (wine) from friends
My mum is immediately disheartened and offended by the gift, demands we throw it out
Dad keeps it in a cupboard as a joke to piss my mum off
He jokes around saying that me and my sister can try some
Really pisses mum off
Whenever mum forgets, I remind her that the alcohol is still hiding somewhere in the house
She gets very annoyed

None of us end up drinking the alcohol

Reminds me of when my family and relatives constantly asks me to drink alcohol. It's pretty common for minors to drink here so I don't blame them. They never pressure me to do it but it gets pretty annoying when there's a huge family gathering.

i think that happens in every country more of a family thing that lots of families do just for fun to see their kids reactions to trying out alcoholic drinks, needless to say its pretty funny sometimes

That makes a lot of sense now that I think about it. Though they'll probably let me actually drink some lmao.

hmm, its usually annoying when you are around drunk people when you are not drunk, for me its annoying but fine when my parent is drunk. he usually act the same just a bit more unhinged, sometimes I drink with my relatives(including my father yes) when there is an event or party, and its pretty alright.

never really had a bad experience with a drunk parent.
