My opinion is, top players and streamers will say "holy firetruck osu got acquired". And then the company will license more songs (like Konami) so that early DMCAs from Konami can be removed.

There's no way an open-source rhythm game will be acquired by any corpo. It would be a dumb move, and they would have to make a different version with a commercial license (take a look at Nexuiz Classic, when the Nexuiz name was registered with Ilfonic).
