I had some thinking, and I decided to remove the Taiko diffs, it is mainly my fault that I can not make them go live. The unavailability of the taiko mappers is not helping either.

I can not map taiko well but I still like the mode, I couldn't get the map going for a long time and the mappers are partly gone, I'll try to get the standard set ranked soon, the taiko diffs are included in the description for anyone interested!

[ROLLING STAR]

00:00:730 (1) - Okay. Your intro isn't very consistent in terms of rhythm. Here you use a circle, followed by 1/1 break. You then use a slider at 00:02:260 (1) - . to map the same beats, with 1/2 beat in between, before switching back to a single circle with 1/1 break at 00:03:750 (9) - . Honestly, it's better to fllow the 1/2 slider rhythm for all of these strong beats, rather than leaving a 1/1 gap because what this creates is irregular spacing going into the next note.
00:03:750 (9,1) - Take this for example. The spacing is very similar to the spacing you see in the previous circles that were spaced 1/2 apart. However, these two circles are actually spaced 1/1 apart which is not good. It creates an irregularly short spacing that also interferes with flow.

00:03:378 (6,7,8) - Doesn't fit honestly... No triplet sound here. You are mirroring the slider from before: 00:01:887 (5) - . So be consistent and also use a 1/2 slider here.
00:06:173 (1,2) - Stack perfectly ;D
00:12:694 (1,2,3,4,1,2) - This jump pattern is poorly spaced imo... 00:12:694 (1,2,3) - Are one set of beats with 1 being the strongest, so the jump from 1>2 makes sense. Going by your style, you want 2>3 to have a small spacing (which is fine i guess,). However, this jump pattern needs to be mirrored in the next set of 3 beats to be consistent, so the jump from 3>4 should also be large (you did this), and so should the jump from 4>1. The jump from 1>2 should be the closely spaced jump, followed by a large jump again into the next slider.
00:18:471 (8,1) - Potential for a triplet here instead.
00:18:284 (7,8,1) - Also, the spacing here is a bit awkward. White ticks like 1 are usually strong beats, but you map it to a very short jump... that doesn't play well imo.
00:25:179 (6,1) - This is a bit better, having a large jump on the strong white tick. This jump might be slightly exaggerated though...
00:26:669 - You should map something "clickable" here rather than a slider end, since you map the other drum hits, all of which are clicked.
00:28:719 (5,1) - Is this necessary? Difficult to read because so much of the slider is overlapped. I don't see a purpose to this overlap other than to screw with people lol.
00:30:023 (3,1) - Not the best flow. I'd like to see the slider angled a bit more to the top/right of the screen rather than being so horizontal.
00:34:123 (4) - This slider doesn't really do much... it honestly doesn't fit, and you also miss out on mapping the beat at 00:34:496 - to something clickable that would lead into the next slider better.
00:34:123 (4,1) - Yea, I don't think a flow break fits here. If anything though, at least fix the stack on the slider-ends.
00:36:545 (1,2,3) - Again, poor flow. Also, i don't think the repeat on 2 works that well... You might want to consider a rhythm like this instead: Here
00:45:862 (3,4,1) - Here again, the spacing makes it seem like 1 is also 1/2 beat away from 4, when its actually 1/1. You can fix this by making 4 a slider though.
00:58:905 (1,2,3) - You could honestly improve this pattern. It doesn't look like much honestly...
01:03:005 (3,4,1) - This flow break doesn't work for me... I feel like a jump from 4>1 fits better than a flow-break.
01:13:812 (3,1,2,1) - Spacing issues with jumps again.
01:37:663 (1,2) - Poor flow. Also, fix the blanket with slider 3.
01:38:781 (5,1) - Blanket
01:40:458 (6,1) - Mentioned earlier about having a short jump on the white tick. Also, this spacing makes the jump from 01:40:831 (2,3) - extremely exaggerated.. Also, I really don't think the drum beat on 3 is so important that you need such a large jump. You don't map the same beat in later and earlier sections so such a drastic jump so this doesn't seem consistent.

01:43:067 (2,3) - Yea, I don't think this flow-breaking jump works either. Also note how you map the beat at 01:43:253 - to a slider-end this time? That pretty much tells the player this particular beat wasn't that significant considering it wasn't even mapped to something click/tappable. But you just mapped a huge jump to it the measure before.
01:43:812 (5,6,1) - Mentioned earlier about 1/1 spacing issues.
01:52:570 (5,6,7) - This rhythm doesn't really work for me... Try this rhythm instead: Here.
01:55:551 (1,1) - Hmm, the 1/1 spacing works here because the circles are clearly not spaced to appear like 1/2 distance spaced jumps, so this is another alternative~
01:57:415 (1,3) - Fix stack.
02:02:259 (1,2) - This doesn't work. First, take out the NC's, Then follow the rhythm you set up in the previous measure 02:00:023 (1,2,3,4,5) - . This rhythm works well, but you need to mirror it in the next measure by making 02:02:259 (1) - two circles, and having a 1/2 slider begin at 02:02:632 -
02:02:819 (3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - Honestly... nothing in the music really suggests a stream. Especially the first half of it. You could argue that the second half might fit
02:07:477 (7) - NC, and stick to this rhythm because it's good: 02:07:477 (7,1,2,3,4) -
02:11:949 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5) - This isn't the Kiai section anymore, the streams don't need to be so spaced... I feel like this is just to up the star rating. Also, I recommend flipping both streams horizontally so they flow better. Something like this would be nice. Since the first stream would flow nicely from 02:11:576 (3) - . And the second stream would flow into your next stream nicely too.
02:18:750 (4,1) - This is a really sharp directional shift. I wouldn't recommend this :P Nothing in the song suggests such a shift. If you wanted a sharp turn, it makes more sense to put it at 02:18:378 (6,1) - Since there is an audible change in the music.
02:17:912 (1,2,3) - Also, why stack? It's very difficult to read and plays kinda awkwardly...
02:21:824 (3,4,5) - Okay, 3>4 jump is pretty big, that's fine, but why the short spacing from 4>5 when 5 is an even stronger beat than 4? You want to emphasize 5 so make it a big jump too, or nerf 3>4 jump.

Problems i'm seeing are:

There isn't a clear, consistent rhythm. You swap to varying rhythms even though the rhythm in the song is being mirrored in the next measure.

Also, I think your jump patterns could use some work. Some of them don't flow that well for me. I feel you could try and create better patterns for those jumps. As they are now, they seem kind of unpolished and a bit random. Also, consider the spacing too, when you map your jumps, because large spacing is usually used to emphasize certain beats.



I know I said I'd mod 3 diff's but I spent a lot of time on this one, and I hope I've explained myself clearly enough. You may ask me for a recheck on your Insane later if you want, I wouldn't mind taking another look at it.

Hello Avishay! Nya requested a mod.

Sadly I have to pop the bubble, because of few general issues (spread, bg etc) + I think some diffs can be improved.

:idea: General


* b2.jpg is 1365x768. Please change to 1366x768.
* Only the ROLLING STAR diff has 1500ms audio lead-in. Add to the other diffs as well.
* Inconsistent KIAI times. With GD's it doesn't matter, but keep it consistent in your own diffs please.
* Sorry if it's stupid for me to ask, but why is 'sky' in the tags?
* -Nya-'s diff CS4, and yours CS3? Shouldn't be a big problem, but using decimals for your diff would be better imo (considering that your diff is harder than -Nya-'s)
* Letterbox in breaks is on @ WhiteAries and the ROLLING STAR diff, but they don't have breaks :<
* Spread looks like E-N-Nya---H--I-X now. Introducing 1/4 with the usage of reverse sliders in Nya's diff, can keep the spread in balance with both the normal and Avishay's hard diff.

So you're rhythm usage is nice, and the placement is good! Flow is fine overall. One thing that bugged me, is how many hitsounds you left open. Another thing is, as I mentioned earlier, is that the Nya/H isn't that good. The spread with the Normal diff is fine, but if you could introduce 1/4 with usage of repeat sliders could improve the spead greatly, while still keeping the diff rather easy to still keep it balanced with the Normal diff.

If you have trouble with hitsounds, I recommend looking at Kibbleru's hitsounding guide, or you could also take a look at WhiteAries' diff. His/her HS pattern is good and I think he/she tried to follow the same instruments as you did.

I could give you a whole list with what to remove and add but too lazy and it would take alooooooooot of time

I tried to not comment on style, but this diff needs a bit more work imo. The jumps are fun - but everything feels off at some points of the map due to inconsistent / unexpected patterns.

I really like the song, and this map is going towards the right direction.

I just think that we can both agree that there could be some improvement some of the diffs c:

* Spread looks like E-N-Nya---H--I-X now. Introducing 1/4 with the usage of reverse sliders in Nya's diff, can keep the spread in balance with both the normal and Avishay's hard diff. I was asked by Sonnyc to have a gap filling diff, with star rating around 2.3~2.6, Nya did it well, if she wants to add 1/4 to her map I have no objections (for whatever choice she makes).

Some of the blankets had to be like that, and some of them were fixed. An other change I made: stacked the last note on Normal again since otherwise it feels a bit awkward to me, and honestly stacking on Normal should be just fine.

01:04:868 (1,2,3,4) - There is a lot of potential here for a better rhythm imo. 1/2 sliders definitely work, but try this rhythm and see if you like it better: Rough structure. Basically 1/2 slider > jump to circle > jump to next slider. If you like this pattern There are many ways to change this you to your liking too. Rhythm
01:12:881 (2,2) - This overlap isn't good imo. It's a slow section too, which makes this quite hard to read. And you already have a circle stacked under the tail.

Alright I hope this was helpful! Also, please recheck your NC pattern, sometimes it's not very consistent. Sections like 02:08:968 (1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3) - for example. I know everyone has different patterns which are equally fine, but on the majority of your map (and lower diff's) the NC is on every large white tick so try and do the same.

It seems just fine.. When I started mapping it I took the mp3 from the old mapset of Rolling star (lol) and it is not even the full song, so.. The beginning is a bit random but I got some timing points there and it seems fine.
